With just the right amount of speed & ramp, this Snake Tribal deck can run over tons of others before they know it!

I was challenged the other day to make a budget deck to compete with the people who don't have the same card collection that I do. I told them that my card collection had nothing to do with me winning, it was just the fact I had more experience. I set out to prove that it doesn't take a fancy deck, expensive land base, or OP cards to win games; a lot of times, it's the individual.

However, this deck, for around $50, puts said individual on a pretty good platform for winning, as it does run cards such as Caged Sun, Beastmaster Ascension, Krosan Grip, and other mono green staples because of the incredibly cheap creatures & lands. The obscure creatures will have your opponents confused enough to not care about them, and that's when you cast your commander, Seshiro the Anointed, and make all your 1/1s into 3/3s, which I think is really good.

The deck has tons of blue/black hate, such as Mold Adder, so this deck can even work in a very controlling meta (I would know, my meta is controlling).

I'm definitely looking for improvements, but trying to keep the total cost between $40 - $60, to show everyone that budget decks can be very good. One improvement I would note is maybe adding more draw effect cards, but I think Seshiro himself does well with drawing cards, which is why I opted out of lots of cards that draw cards.

If you were to make this deck less budget friendly, Snow-Covered Forest & Extraplanar Lens are things I would throw in, along with more removal, better enchantments (Doubling Season and/or Parallel Lives), and Planeswalkers (Garruk Wildspeaker & Nissa, Voice of Zendikar). Alternatively, you could run Kaseto, Orochi Archmage) and run Green Ramp/Creatures and Blue Control/Draw.

As for now, I have this deck in paper, and have been using it every chance I get. It is extremely fun & surprisingly good; even though my meta knows about it, there's not much they can do to stop it, especially when it gets going. I'm very much the brewer in my meta, so I will be updating this deck, as well as making more competitive budget decks to which I will link when they go up.
