Shisato, Whispering Hunter Discussion

Thorbogl on Kaseto, Orochi Archmage Snake Tribal EDH

If you're interested in some more control, you can try Out Opposition.

Once you get a decent Board you can start locking opponents, and it gets super scary with Shisato, Whispering Hunter.

Craterhoof Behemoth Is a good card but I rarely pull him most games lol I've been using him before I tweaked the deck

Archfiend of Ifnir like Bhaal666 said it would be better in a discard/cycle variant

Dusk Urchins Can provide you with card adventage pretty fast It's worth running

Seshiro the Anointed while draw power and giving snakes power is good and all but it's situational and can slow the deck down if you can't generate snakes

Shisato, Whispering Hunter would be a better alternative to seshiro

I also suggest running

Kamahl, Fist of Krosa in a hapatra deck if you want to slow your opponents down when it comes to mana

Bitter Ordeal with the hapatra combo to exile a library

Woodfall Primus with Mickey if you want to be that guy lol

I'm still debating on running Westvale Abbey  Flip

I wish I can run Blightsteel Colossus

Feel free to see my variant as well if you're interested

AwezomePozzum ; Seshiro the Anointed was on the list before, but was removed. With the exception of the commander, the deck didn't contained many snakes. This decklist focus more on -1/-1 counters and ways to use tokens. Shisato, Whispering Hunter still there because of it's effect that fit a stax subtheme.

It could be fun, but I think almost half of the deck would have to be built differently.

TheKing8426 on Budget EDH - Mono Green Snakes

Womokos, I wouldn't recommend you cutting snakes while keeping the deck mono-green. The weak point of the deck is card draw, which is inherently helped out by the Commander. It is only when you switch the Commander that you need to find card slots to put in more card draw. Blue is the card draw colour, hence the taking out of snakes to play cantrips such as Ponder or Preordain.

If you did want to cut snakes while keeping the deck mono-green, I would say that the weakest ones, in my opinion, are Orochi Eggwatcher or Shisato, Whispering Hunter. However, they still allow you to draw cards while Seshiro is out, so it's debatable whether to take them out or not.

The fun of Commander, to me, is tuning a deck to you and your play style. While I personally think this deck is very good, it is just my take on it; I encourage you to make changes as you see fit!

TheRedGoat: shrug You said it yourself. She shuts off all of my infinite combos, and generally speaking I'm okay with putting -1/-1 counters on my creatures in exchange for snakes. She used to be in here, but after she messed up my combos one too many times, she got the axe. With regards to the cuts you mention, I can definitely see what you're saying with regards to Seshiro the Anointed, but Shisato, Whispering Hunter is a surprisingly good tempo piece if I have a snake or two (and I almost always do). Flourishing Defenses is still in testing, but there's a few cards I'd want to add beforehand.

Darkcoco23: I'd rather have Parallel Lives TBH - Doubling Season only doubles the -1/-1 counters on my creatures, and is one mana more.

Zimmers_0: Mine seems to be running really really well so far. A special shout-out to a few cards though!

Shisato, Whispering Hunter locks down an opponent pretty thoroughly as long as you can keep generating snakes.

Ulvenwald Tracker allows your deathtouchy snakes to fight your opponents' commanders.

Wickerbough Elder is great repeatable removal in this deck - you can reset him to use him again.

Your removal seems okay but you're missing Beast Within (simply the best green piece of removal in EDH). Pernicious Deed is also great.

How do you feel about tutors? Demonic Tutor and Diabolic Intent are great here. Same with Eldritch Evolution: you can sac a token to get a 2-drop, or a utility creature to get a combo piece.

Do you have any particular card draw in mind? You seem a bit light on it.

Still though your deck looks good! :) I used a lot of cards for it in my list :)
