Sideboard

Maybeboard

I've been working to put together a Jund list for weekly meet ups and FNM, but I'm still missing the main 12 cards to really make it sing - the playset of Tarmogoyf, Liliana of the Veil, and Dark Confidant. I am going to work on picking them up over time, but right now it is hard to justify dropping that much on a playset.

As of right now, I'm happy with the mainboard removal package. For my local meta at least, I feel more comfortable with a 3-3 split of Fatal Push and Terminate as Terminate is the only card that can remove an enemy Tasigur, the Golden Fang, Gurmag Angler, or Reality Smasher. One Abrupt Decay seems fine at the moment with my mixture of other low cost removal, but I'd be open to swapping 1-2 Lightning Bolt to add in more Abrupt Decay to deal with maindeck Blood Moon, Ensnaring Bridge, and the like. So far, however, I'm usually happy to have those Lightning Bolts because it allows me to finish off somebody low in a topdeck war, and still removes some of the creatures in the format like Spell Queller.

I originally had some life gain in the sideboard, but I realized with my budget creature package, I have a surprising amount of life-gain in the main deck. While none of it is burst, the combination of Courser of Kruphix and Scavenging Ooze tends to bring in just enough of a trickle of life gain to make the burn match-up pretty easy. So for that reason, I decided to add in a Shattering Spree and a Night of Souls' Betrayal to help out vs a variety of poorer matchups, like affinity and storm.

I'm convinced that I would like a 1 of Grim Lavamancer in the main deck, but I am unsure what to cut for it. Possibly Garruk Relentless  ? I could possibly swap their places in the maindeck and sideboard, as I don't think there are many matchups where I wouldn't want to see Grim Lavamancer.

If you have any advice or tips, please feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think! As a side note, an alternative I was considering was going Living End since I already have (most of) the mana base and it's a lot cheaper to buy into than traditional Jund.
