Yeah, if you are running Fierce Empath , you do want most of your bombs to be at or above that 6 CMC threshold. For instance, that's why I run Greenwarden of Murasa over the usually far superior Eternal Witness and Cyclops of Eternal Fury over say Urabrask the Hidden or Fires of Yavimaya . Running both the Empath and Time of Need will require careful balancing so you don't end up in situations where you need to find one thing and the tutor you draw isn't the one that can search for it. Hypothetically, you can get around that by just running creatures that satisfy both conditions. It is true though that such creatures will often be quite pricey like the Eldrazi titans and Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger . If you do go the Eldrazi route, Artisan of Kozilek and It That Betrays would be some other guys to keep an eye out for, with one being obviously more budget than the other. As for the appropriate numbers of land untappers and land enchantments, you'll just have to goldfish and hopefully also get some real games in to test what ratio works for you. If there is a lot of enchantment destruction being played early, for example, I think running 12 Overgrowth effects would be more worthwhile. Or if creature removal is more of an issue, working in Hope Tender or Sculptor of Winter could be an option.

kpres yeah i forgot to mention the haste enablers. I kept the count low as thats the last resort win con and i wanted to go with ones with low cmc (so no Cyclops of Eternal Fury/Akroma's Memorial), no downside (Hellraiser Goblin), and were not enchantments (personal preference) or planeswalkers.

Planeswalkers are objectively bad in this deck in my opinion since Warp World does not put them onto the battlefield.

You should have at least two cards that grant haste to all your creatures, if you're using Craterhoof or planning on attacking the same turn as Warp World.

  1. Akroma's Memorial

  2. Chasm Guide

  3. Cyclops of Eternal Fury

  4. Domri, City Smasher

  5. Hellraiser Goblin

The Sunscorched Desert can be replaced with a Savage Lands since the one colorless you produce with it does not give it much utility. You can also look in to replacing the Rupture Spire and Transguild Promenade with the bounce lands like Rakdos Carnarium, Golgari Rot Farm, or Gruul Turf. It may seem just as slow, but the bounce lands will allow you to float the mana from land before returning them to hand, so essentially you are not losing a resource on that turn, which is a plus since the bounce land will provide two mana instead of one. With the guild gates you are running, Circuitous Route would be a great addition to search them out. I a tiny bit of synergy for minotaurs in the deck so you may want to remove Forerunner of Slaughter as the only targets for its activated ability are itself and Ornithopter. You can replace the Forerunner with a Fanatic of Mogis and even the Ornithopter with Deathbellow Raider. Also, Samut, Voice of Dissent is considered a Naya colored creature (red/green/white) since here activated ability required a Plains, so she can legally be apart of the deck. However, some alternatives to her to enable Haste for your creatures would be Cyclops of Eternal Fury, or you can further a minotaur theme with Kragma Warcaller or Neheb, the Eternal.

I'd replace the Cyclops of Eternal Fury and replace it for an Anger

phc on Rats in EDH: How would …

The problem I ran into my rat deck is the lack of haste cards. By the time I Thrumming Stoned a pile of Relentless Rats on the field, one of my opponents would toss down a wrath before I could attack. I tried to get around this through Living Death and Patriarch's Bidding. Or through an alternate wincon like Altar of Dementia and Altar of the Brood.

I have thought about re-building the deck using Alesha,Who Smiles at Death. That would give me access to Burst of Speed, Cyclops of Eternal Fury, Ogre Battledriver, and others mass haste cards. Then maybe some mass discard spells to keep the other players low on gas, and to give Alesha more targets for her triggered ability.

Hi! I think the following gods could help you (they are creatures when you cast them, so no taking damage from your commander):  Rhonas the Indomitable, Purphoros, God of the Forge, Nylea, God of the Hunt, Xenagos, God of Revels

And maybe a semi boardwipe could help - Crater Hellion

A haste enabler - Cyclops of Eternal Fury

Bloodbraid Elf for a free creature.

And I agree to the first comment, Bane of Progress should really be included.

Instead of Bloodsworn Steward, consider Anger, Cyclops of Eternal Fury, Samut, Voice of Dissent, or Urabrask the Hidden. This would give all of your creatures haste instead of just your commander. The +2/+2 is nice but it only effects your commander.

I think that the Zhur-Taa Druid and the Honored Hierarch are pretty weak in this deck. The Honored Hierarch can't tap for mana until after it has dealt damage to a player. The Zhur-Taa Druid only taps for green and pings everyone at the table, which isn't much damage but it does paint a target on your forehead faster. What about a Birds of Paradise, Drover of the Mighty, or even better Wood Elves.Note that the Wood Elves does not have the word 'basic' on it.

The only other card I don't think is that good is the Fiery Justice. What about Vizier of the Menagerie, Skyshroud Claim, Blasphemous Act, Decimate, Lifecrafter's Bestiary, Elemental Bond, Sun Titan, Rishkar's Expertise, or Temur Sabertooth?
