Commander / EDH Casual Combo Jank Mill Stax Tribal

kaboomeow

So, this deck has gotten a little (and I mean very little, but still more than most of my decks. I've never had a deck added to another users folder before) attention, and because of that, I feel I need to do a write-up on it.

So, this deck isn't meant to be competitive. I know I have some higher-end cards in here, but that's just me being a blue player that likes to play his favorite cards. This deck was originally intended to be part of my filthy casual playgroups antics as a jank tribal deck. All of us picked up an unconventional tribe (spiders, birds, snakes, etc.), and I wanted to pick one that none of us had ever heard of: Moonfolk.

To say the least... This deck is weird. It's a tribal build that plays a lot of stax elements, but typically doesn't appear to be a threat until the engine starts going. When I began building the list, I simply searched up every Moonfolk, and added every one I liked to the list. All of them are still in the list today, since it's meant for a casual environment, and they make the deck work.

You will like this deck if:
  • You like to deprive other's of their resources

  • You like big combo finishes

  • You like being the person people look at when something needs to be countered

  • You like casting your commander

  • You just want to play jank

You will not like this deck if:

  • You don't like having a target painted on your back every once in a while

  • You're a Timmy

  • You want a linear deck

  • You don't like people asking what a card does when you cast it

  • You're not willing to learn the ins and outs of a deck

There are a few combos in your deck, and you will want to wait until you're safe to throw them out, and win the game. Protect them. But, when your combos get hated out entirely, there are other ways to win, and I've had to do it.

The key combo

Patron of the Moon + Storm Cauldron /Cloudstone Curio + Amulet of Vigor

Patron of the Moon + Ghost Town + Amulet of Vigor

These are the bread and butter. With this, you are allowed infinite land drops, and infinite mana. Tap some lands, bounce them, play two of them for thanks to Patron of the Moon, and they come in untapped with Amulet of Vigor. With Ghost Town , you only need itself and the other two pieces. Rinse and repeat.

Now, with this, you have opportunity after opportunity. With Training Grounds in play, you are allowed to do nearly anything at this point.

Floodbringer taps down your opponents lands at their upkeep.

Hedron Crab allows for infinite mill.

Meloku the Clouded Mirror allows for infinite dudes.

Oboro Envoy renders attacks useless.

Roil Elemental lets you steal boardstates at instant speed.

Soratami Cloudskater and Retreat to Coralhelm finds you a piece to win the game.

Soratami Mirror-Mage and Flooded Shoreline makes the stax that much worse.

Soratami Savant makes infinite Mana Leak.

Uyo, Silent Prophet ... This one is just funny.

Eternity Vessel says you don't die to creature based decks.
