Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose combos well with the lifegain, yes but, the triggers of Bastion of Remembrance have a net effect that is identical without the non-drawable effect for creatures of Enduring Renewal. Also, if it goes to the graveyard it would not synergize with Abiding Grace or Proclamation of Rebirth. Then, the only way to play it is if it was already in your hand or on the battlefield before Enduring Renewal comes into play, or you play it using the ability from Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord. I specifically excluded creatures that cost more than 1 so they could be economically reanimated in this way.

If we were to swap it one for one with Bastion of Remembrance for the sake of comparison, we also lose the synergistic ability to 'Dead Reckoning style' tutor it from your graveyard to the top of your library like you would be able to do with Bastion of Remembrance + Hall of Heliod's Generosity .

The great thing about this deck is that there are 4 cards that give you infinite life, 4 that give you infinite win conditions of one kind or another, and another one that does both for a total of 9 possible trigger cards. The trick then is to have at least 1 of them and get one of the 7 creature pieces and one of the Enduring Renewals as fast and efficiently as possible. For this reason I cut back on my initial build of 4 each of the Wardens primarily in favor of general tutors. I had to give up triggers to more reliably find missing pieces, usually the Renewal since by then I likely had one of the creatures in hand or in the graveyard, but not always which is why most of the tutors find more than just Enchantments.

wallisface, thank you very much for your suggestions. I did some calculations and increased the number of lands to 21, which (accounting for the Leyline) is about the amount to fit the mana curve, which is now also a bit better, since I took out Proclamation of Rebirth. I am currently trying to make up for running a low number of key cards by including 4xIdyllic Tutor, and I don't want to run too many Approach of the Second Sun, as they are stupidly expensive and usually dead cards until T9-T10. The second one is just there in case the first one gets taken away somehow. I made up for this by including Wall of Omens, which fits into the deck theme nicely anyways. I might try mainboarding another Sterling Grove as well, as it is really important for removal-heavy matchups. What do you think?

I'm going to take a different stance, I like the mill crabs. At least, I like Hedron Crab, not sure about Ruin Crab. People are seriously undervaluing the self-mill I think. If you have a crab and abiding grace in hand, the crab can find you a fogger to get back, no tutor required.

I will say that I'm not a fan of the green splash. It complicates the mana base, and I doubt you need 8 copies of fog when the entire deck is build around the engine of Abiding Grace.

Also, I can't BELIEVE it hasn't been mentioned yet, but a couple copies of Proclamation of Rebirth seems like an absolute shoe-in, especially with the self-mill.

All that said, I have a spicy idea I want to throw out, concerning the idea of other win cons: I think you can foray this into a super interesting take on UW Spirits. Kami of False Hope and Skyclave Apparition are both already spirits. Mausoleum Wanderer plays VERY nicely with Abiding Grace, and is just a solid card overall. From there, thrown in Rattlechains to give your spirits flash, Supreme Phantom as a lord, Drogskol Captain as another lord + protection, and I think you've got the makings of a really sweet list. Spectral Sailor could be a nice one to round it out as another very solid 1 drop. Or, if you keep the green, you have access to stuff like Willow Geist and Collected Company, if you want. Probably unnecessary, but the Willow Geist is kinda neat if nothing else.

Anyway, that's just a crackpot idea. What you're working with here is already super cool.

@Thebestnoob there are indeed spells that reanimate. Proclamation of Rebirth , Tethmos High Priest , Breath of Life , False Defeat , Late to Dinner , Ramosian Revivalist , Resurrection , Timely Hordemate , Bishop of Rebirth , Defy Death , Karmic Guide and Miraculous Recovery , just to name a few. Not sure what specific format you’re looking to build in, but there are options in most.

Proclamation of Rebirth has been outclassed by Abiding Grace

Vanishing Verse is not that good, better a sideboard card since there are a lot of colorless and multicolored threats in the game. 4 is definitely too many if any. Dire Tactics is also bad so I wouldn't even consider it. 2-4 Vindicate and/or Prismatic Ending should hit most targets that Path to Exile and Fatal Push can't.

I like the list. It has real potential.

I'm not a fan of doomed and null priest unless they are cheating out big creatures - the only big cleric I can think of is Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. Resurrecting multiple other clerics can be done in easier, less disruptable ways.

Many of the most powerful sideboard cards (mainboardable in many metas) are clerics, and that means that with 75 cards including sideboard, something that can really kick butt in a metagame is out there.

The option to ressurect Children of Korlis, Containment Priest, Ethersworn Canonist, Fiend Hunter, Grand Abolisher, Leonin Arbiter, Auriok Champion, Leonin Relic-Warder, Remorseful Cleric, Sanctifier en-Vec, Sin Collector - there are too many great clerics for this not to become something. Even stuff like Orzhov Pontiff and True Believer has seen sideboard play in the kind of creature-led deck it would be.

You have access to all the tools from soul sisters, with Soul Warden also getting Marauding Blight-Priest as another piece. Vizier of Remedies threatens a combo line. Efficient 1 drops means that tools like Orzhov Charm, Ranger-Captain of Eos and Proclamation of Rebirth look a lot better. Order of Whiteclay and oddities like Hanweir Militia Captain  Flip it offer more options than you'd expect, and it only takes one good interaction with them to turn them into powerhouse engines.

All of that before looking at w/b getting the best removal in the game means that some variant of this list will make a dent in a major tournament, once someone figures it out.

Man, Martyr Proc seems phenomenal, but here's my best attempt:

Priest Hilden's Pup

Creature - Dog

As an additional cost to cast Priest Hilden's Pup, return a creature you control to its owners hand.

Flash

Sacrifice Priest Hilden's Pup: You or target spell, permanent, or card you own gains protection from the color of your choice until end of turn. Activate this ability only if your life total is greater than twice your starting life total

1/1

Returning the creature to hand will help Martyr of Sands as well as Using the protection from removal of Familiar's Ruse and providing protection itself with its activated ability. Sacrificing itself works as fodder for Proclamation of Rebirth.

I'd like to see another walker from my list earlier, and yeah, I forgot about Xenagos.

  • Naga (Snake-like)
  • Aven (Bird)
  • Ainok (Dog)
  • Loxodon (Elephant)
  • Kithkin

I assume Udrek of Shiv was a Viashino, please specify, thanks!

I really want to see more non-human walkers from WotC, so until I'm satiated, I'll foist this upon you

I do like Chalice of Life  Flip as a janky win con.

you can interrupt Proclamation of Rebirth with Martyr of Sands active, then target it again? That is crazy. I did not know that.

Taking out 4x Honor of the Pure and 2x Oketra's Monument then adding 2x Proclamation of Rebirth 2x Chalice of Life  Flip 2x Angel of Vitality may do the trick, but my main concern is card draw after my hand gets empty on turn 3. I guess that won't matter to much? If that is the case I should take out 2x Dawn of Hope as well and add another angel and proclamation
