Inner-Flame Igniter

Creature — Elemental Warrior

: Creatures you control get +1/+0 until end of turn. If this is the third time this ability has resolved this turn, creatures you control gain first strike until end of turn.

I'd go something amongst the lines of this, on a simpler Mono R version

Creature Base

  1. 4x Brighthearth Banneret
  2. 4x Fire Urchin
  3. 4x Kiln Fiend
  4. 4x Lavakin Brawler
  5. 4x Goblin Smuggler
  6. 4x Pyre Hound

Spells Base

  1. 4x Built to Smash
  2. 4x Brute Force
  3. 4x Titan's Strength
  4. 4x Infuriate

There's a cheeky combo you can throw in if you'd like as well with Brighthearth Banneret + Brighthearth Banneret + Grinning Ignus for infinite mana, and use Fiery Hellhound or Igneous Cur or Inner-Flame Igniter or any of those Pay : gains +x/+x

Going to test out Inner-Flame Igniter, Inner-Flame Acolyte, Smokebraider, and Sunflare Shaman. Will update with results.

Yeah, I wanted it to be a black ability in dimir, so like an allied splash cycle, was my idea, but I like what you did, so... look, R&D is cooperative for this very reason. I had one idea and you made an adjacent but very compelling idea. Playtesting needs to stop by and tell us to add Delve, bc idk what else they're doing rn...

I think a wording like "Choose an instant or sorcery you cast this game Copy that spell it if it resolved. You lose life equal to that spell's mana cost." would be more correct, based on Ashling the Pilgrim / Inner-Flame Igniter / Soulbright Flamekin; Bonus Round, Mirari; Fury Storm / Echo Storm / Empyrial Storm / Genesis Storm / Skull Storm. To be clear, I'mo not a rules judge, but just looking at the syntax of existing cards with relatively adjacent abilities.

Yennett, Annalist Regnant

Legendary Creature - Sphinx

If a spell has been countered this game, this spell can't be countered.

Flying, Hexproof, Lifelink

Whenever a player casts a spell, if they have cast an odd number of spells which share a type with it, they draw a card. Otherwise, they discard a card.

At the beginning of your upkeep, if you have more life than you did at the beginning of your last upkeep, you gain life equal to the difference.

4/6

I'd like to see a common sorcery speed removal spell, but not a sorcery.

It is advisable to have someone like Caerwyn move the thread to a more appropriate forum.

Still, it will be best to give you some advise.

Honestly, the deck is just a bunch of small dudes that are very close to being weak vanilla with no synergy. 2/2 for 3 mana that sacrifices itself to make 2 mana is not very impressive, especially when you have no expensive cards to spend that mana on. You get 0 utility out of Faithless Looting , as none of your cards want to be in the graveyard.

The crux is the 4 Sparkspitter , but that is not impressive. It takes a whole turn and 4 mana to turn a mountain into a Spark Elemental , which is not very powerful.

My advice - focus on Smokebraider . It is an incredibly powerful tool that can allow you to win the games. IT and Soulbright Flamekin combo very well to give you 8 mana for 6 mana invested and trample. Then you can take that mana and invest it in the Inner-Flame Igniter which for 9 gives you +3/+0 and first strike on all your dudes.

Can you spare 1 each: Hissing Iguanar, Inner-Flame Igniter, Seething Pathblazer, Smokebraider and I might need 1 Soulbright Flamekin. Cool thanks!

Okay. Lol. I guess. Well, a card you could put in your deck (or most likely sideboard) is Deathgreeter. It's good not only because you sacrifice your scions for more, but also because when you chump block, you just get a little something extra. I feel it would be really good against aggro and other fast decks. Another good card you could add is Inner-Flame Igniter. It's like Swarm Surge, but you can use it over and over again, so you don't have to conserve it until you can kill the opponent in one turn.
