• Introduction:

History: past, even future. it's all the same in the eyes of the Kami.

  • The deck:

This is the third iteration of a deck that has already been tried several times: big spirit tribal, with a 5 colored commander. We tried with Kyodai's progenitor, O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami before, but he has been... rather underwhelming, with poor synergies. Kyodai however, offers a much more reactive and protective play, and plays into the indestructibility subtheme the deck has with divinity counter rather nicely.

You are piloting the combined forces of the unstoppable Kami spirits of Kamigawa, both from the past and the futuristic present of the plane. Use your spirit gods to cause major chaos on the land or outvalue your opponent on the long run by triggering your powerful myojin gods, with earth shattering consequences.

Kyodai is a 5 colored spirit enabler, since he allows your deck to have every single Myojin while also having flash and granting conditional protection. This pairs realy well with indestructibility counters, offering a nice 2 for one deal, since giving indestructible to Kyodai itself will let you keep both him and the protégée

  • The deck's strengths:

This deck relies on using your Myojin to answer the situations you may face while granting board or card advantage. Some truly are game changing, like Myojin of Infinite Rage and will oftentimes win you the game when resolving. In other words, this deck will play like a toned down battlecruiser deck with several big spirit payoffs, like Bounteous Kirin, card:arcane gorger and the like. The plan is to deploy our threats and win with them. We also have a divinity counter subtheme, with the help of That Which Was Taken and Kindred Boon, so we can reload our Myojin sized guns again and again.

  • The deck's weaknesses:

The Myojin may seem powerful but force a rather honest play style, without much mana cheating, and as such we must rely on ramp to play them. Our "battle-cruisy" style of deck also lacks a bit of tempo, and the myojin theme makes our curve wonky and a bit top heavy. To try and solve this we have some good amount of removal and Breath of the Sleepless for added flexibility.
