This deck began as a "Karn, Silver Golem" colorless deck, and went through several iterations after that. When the Brother's War precons came out, I rebuilt it using cards from those decks, and using Urza, Lord High Artificer as the commander. The deck essentially exploits Urza's artifact token by both copying it and beefing it up using tons of artifacts. The deck also leans heavily on blue for control + card draw + mana acceleration. With three variants of Karn for support if Urza succumbs to removal, the deck is extremely versatile and annoying to play against, but extremely fun to pilot (like many mono-blue decks). I usually dislike playing mono-blue, but this deck is a blast. It does very well against new frame decks despite the old frame constraint.

Notes:

  • Emrakul and It That Heralds the End are new to the deck; they should synergize fairly well but I haven't tested them out yet
  • Balancing the amount of artifacts vs. the amount of blue cards is a challenge, but this version seems to work well
  • As always, I'm open to revisions, so long as they don't involve spending exorbitant amounts on Metalworker, Mana Crypt, etc.
