"Sweet Child of Mine"

This is a music themed deck under construction. Using Child of Alara as the general so the deck has access to all 5 colors. This deck is made from cards that have music references in either card name or a depiction of music in the art. The other non-music themed cards are mostly mana rocks so the deck is playable.

Music in Magic is very combat and creature oriented. What I have notice while curating the deck is cards referencing songs or instruments have mechanics concerned with tutoring for creatures, putting our creatures directly on the battlefield or gaining control of opponent’s creatures. Flavorfully, the songs “enchant” creatures, friend or foe, and bring them to us. Recent sets have a new theme of pipers making a rat army (reminiscent of the pied piper of hamelin story). Some cards thematically give our creatures higher power and toughness and/or not allow other creatures to attack or block, make opponents block only a certain creature of ours, or prevent combat damage.

I hope you all enjoy and I hope this gives others inspiration to make their own music themed deck.
