The Sound of Drums

Enchantment — Aura

Enchant creature

Enchanted creature is goaded. (Until your next turn, those creatures attack each combat if able and attack a player other than you if able.)

If enchanted creature would deal combat damage to a permanent or player, it deals double that damage instead.

: Return The Sound of Drums from your graveyard to your hand.

I think something went wrong with my previous post lol, thanks for being understanding!

I meant to ask if Dr Who is a problem too, because I really like The Sound of Drums and Ensnared by the Mara in Red (I use almost no cards from Dr Who). Drums is a nice recursive aura, handy if people wipe the board, and Ensnared is the opponent's choice of damage (possibly quite a bit if they run high MV cards) or a free spell for you, both seem really handy for only 4 mana.

No prob! I will preface that most of my experience with Goad primarily comes from the Mardu slice of the options available. In case you want to look at a more comprehensive list of the various Goad options in all colors.

From my own personal experience, I'd recommend the following:

  • Bothersome Quasit - Fairly low to the ground & not color intensive for your deck. Also helps open up aggro lanes for additional chaos.

  • The Sound of Drums - I'd recommend something like this or Ghoulish Impetus, which can both be replayed, while the other Impetus cards are kinda one & done once the creature they're on dies.

  • Disrupt Decorum - A pretty classic & budget option.

  • Nelly Borca, Impulsive Accuserfoil - She can Suspect/Goad creatures repeatedly as long as she sticks around. Her draw ability also incentivizes and rewards your opponents to smack each other, which can play into that chaotic feeling.

  • Vengeful Ancestor - Another repeatable Goad option

  • Karazikar, the Eye Tyrantfoil - Opens up aggro lanes and also forcibly rewards/incentivizes your opponents to attack each other.

  • Taunt from the Rampart

They're all pretty fun options to try out. If you ever want to build a straight up Goad deck, I highly recommend giving Nelly Borca a try, she's a lot of fun.

Hey! Love the Bhaal deck!! I had one built when the set first released- I built Bane, Bhaal, and Myrkul.

Myrkul is the only one that's survived, but I wanted to make a couple suggestions that worked really well for me: Ghoulish Impetus, The Sound of Drums, and Disrupt Decorum were all absolute houses for me!

Nice deck, man! +1 from me!!
