Talrand budget baseline

Commander / EDH

SirSelah

(Hoo boy did I not wanna do work today ha ha.)

I hit the budget first try whoo!

Some notes:

  • The vast majority of this deck is at instant speed. Hold up mana until the end of your last opponent's turn when possible before you play a cantip. Don't dump your hand ASAP tho, you won't need as many drakes as you think and you don't want to make yourself a target.

  • Don't cast Talrand ASAP without protection, he's just going to die. Wait until you have some protection ready/in hand before casting.

  • The pump artifacts are innocent enough to be dropped early on curve. The pump creatures may need to wait until you go for the kill depending on the table.

  • Don't counter things just for the sake of countering them! Only counter things that will end the game or threaten you directly.

  • Upgrades involve Reliq Tower, Cyclonic Rift, Disallow, Stifle, Gush or if you want to go a different direction check out the Wizard tribal builds that are floating around.

  • If the deck wears thin you can further upgrade it by converting it into The Locust God which is hella fun.

Enjoy!
