Trying out some new tec! From now on I'll be doing a more consistent job of logging my deck revisions.

Cut ol'reliable, Terastodon for Force of Vigor. Nasty Terasty has always been amazing utility, either using him the way he's meant to be played or using him to hit my own lands and getting 33 power across 7 creatures and making Gaea's Cradle tap for significantly more mana. However, 0 mana is a lot less than 8 mana, and instant speed removal is generally better. Late game I expect to usually only pitch ramp spells after I no longer need them.

Cut Terramorphic Expanse for Prismatic Vista. It was either going to be my signed copy of Teramorphic Expanse or my FNM promo Evolving Wilds, but the Evolving Wilds was too pretty to cut. No-brainer include, the land enters untapped. Effectively a fifth fetchland for my mono colored deck.

Cut Cultivate for Springbloom Druid. This one hurt, I loved my FNM promo Cultivate signed by John Avon! I had already cut Kodama's Reach for Three Visits, and Nissa's Pilgrimage is strictly better in a mono colored deck. Springbloom Druid is also stronger for my strategy, so Cultivate got the axe.

Cut a Forest for Elvish Reclaimer. I play a lot of lands. Like, a lot. I have a million and a half ways to get more lands. With 12 Forests there's still a 91% chance of having green mana on turn one. Reclaimer is too good to not include.

Cut Homeward Path for Cryptic Caves. It's inclusion was originally to protect Titania since the deck just folds without her. However, Control Magic effects are rarely played in my meta, so the cut is justified.

Cut Blast Zone for Lotus Field. Blast Zone is extremely powerful in theory. The problem is that it's just too slow.

Testing out Candelabra of Tawnos over Garruk Wildspeaker, since 99% of the time I only ever use him to untap lands.

Heck yeah! Another sweet include from Throne of Eldraine: Fabled Passage! Bye bye Evolving Wilds!

I really like this! Very close to what I would make in a world where I have several thousand dollars to spend on cards. Are Turntimber Sower , Avenger of Zendikar and Squirrel Wrangler just craterhoof food? I've been unimpressed with them in the past. Also, with the advent of Elvish Reclaimer , Lotus Field and Springbloom Druid I've been leaning more and more toward playing Amulet of Vigor . Is that too cute?

Turntimber Sower does make Hoof food, but it also provides repeatable land recursion.

Avenger of Zendikar is a big threat in its own right in this deck with lots of landfall triggers. But it is also the classic green win condition with Hoof and Tooth and Nail.

Squirrel Wrangler is actually a strong utility card. It makes two bodies per activation and it's a sac outlet. It's very powerful with Gaea's Cradle (as are the other two creatures mentioned). Sacrifice one land, net three creatures, Cradle taps for an additional 3. Repeat as necessary :)

I'm not really a fan of Amulet of Vigor for this deck. I don't play enough lands that enter tapped or cards that put lands into play tapped. Elvish Reclaimer can be activated at instant speed which makes the land entering tapped irrelevant. Lotus Field is just another land that sacrifices two lands for immediate value when it enters. It entering tapped isn't really a downside because it can sac tapped lands (unlike Lotus Vale and Scorched Ruins). As for Evolving Wilds, I'm cutting that for the strictly better fetchland from Throne of Eldraine.

So I’ve been playing a very close version of your excellent deck deck for about a month now, and since I’ve slowly been picking up all the cards for it, I’ve had to work with a few replacement, and it’s lead me to ask why you don’t run Triumph of the hordes in this deck? Because I would say I’ve got the list at about 94% complete, and I can’t imagine cutting it.

I never really found Triumph of the Hordes to be necessary, though I guess there's really no reason to not run it either. Not really sure what I would cut for it honestly.

November 20, 2019 6:08 p.m.

I Don’t own a bazaar of Baghdad, so I run 41 lands, and thats where I fit in Triumph of the hordes. I however am definitely not suggesting cutting the Bazaar lol. But Triumph let me remove 4 of 6 players from a game I played recently on turn 4, it’s incredibly fast. Just something to consider. :) and thank you for your response, I love your deck! Incredibly fun.

Maybe I'll throw it in :) I do prefer to kill the whole table at once haha.

Glad you like it! I've been tweaking it since Titania came out in the 2014 commander precons. She is extremely underrated as one of the most powerful mono green commanders. I'm one of the mods for the Magic the Gathering EDH Commander Facebook page and whenever I see posts about powerful green commanders, no ome ever mentions Titania unless I'm the one saying it. Maybe I'm just biased lol

CastleSiege Very nice deck! Have you considered swapping Song of Dryad for Kenrith's Transformation? Or running both if needed?

Oh also come come you took Garruk Wildspeaker out. Is there just not room for him?

What about Khalni Gem , Tilling Treefolk or Rites of Spring ? I like my Borborygmos Enraged deck and those are some of the nice interactions with land based decks. +1

CastleSiege says... #14

DivineKhaos, Kenrith's Transformation only hits creatures. Song of the Dryads can target any permanent. I removed Garruk Wildspeaker because 90% of the time I only use him to untap lands. Candelabra of Tawnos is significantly more powerful for that and costs only 1cmc.

Naksu, all of those cards are too slow/don't do enough. Tilling Treefolk was in the first iteration of this deck but was cut years ago.

I've been running her since she came out; probably my favorite commander. Looking at your list I don't see Field of the Dead, I highly suggest running it. It's a powerhouse in the deck and is harder to interact with than our commander. The condition is very easy to hit for the deck. It's one of the lands I always grab with Scapeshift when I'm going for 7 or more. The only change I made to my own deck for it was a split between Forests and Snow-covered Forests.

Field of the Dead is something I considered, but the problem is that I frequently have less than 7 lands.

CastleSiege Hey I was curious on your thoughts about some of the cards from the new set coming out. Mainly Nyxbloom Ancient and Dryad of the Ilysian Grove. Or maybe any others you thought looked good! Thanks.

DivineKhaos,

Nyxbloom Ancient puts a huge target on your head without actually winning the game on its own. Dryad of the Ilysian Grove is a card I was initially excited for, but I think I have enough extra land effects and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth is better for me than the dryad's second ability.

I've been on a mono-color kick lately and wanted to do a lands theme, so, this build hit the spot. I did my own iteration since I already had about 60 of the cards. I don't have Candelabra of Tawnos , Gaea's Cradle , Three Visits , Bazaar of Baghdad , or City of Traitors .

I did some digging through the internet and my collection. How do you feel about Emergence Zone to execute the Food Chain combo at instant speed ? This deck is clearly optimized imo but since I don't have access to all of the pieces, I've found Krosan Restorer to work well with any 'enters tapped' issues other players may encounter, opinion?

Lastly, any reason you don't include Thespian's Stage and Dark Depths combo?

DivineKhaos Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage was never really worth it in the play testing I did with it.
