My version of Sydri will aim to control the board state with sweepers until I can build up a critical mass of mana rocks and other beneficial artifacts.

Even though I might include cards like Mycosynth Lattice I will not use its potential to landsweep my opponents or abuse any of the other infinite combos setups known with Sydri. This is not a combo deck but a deck aimed at denying my opponents targets for their spot creature removal and controlling the board state until I reach critical mass with artifacts. I also put a restriction on myself to not play the most obvious tutors (my playgroup have an agreement on combo decks and I-Win-decks. Basicly an unsaid rule "Don't play decks that restrict others from playing their decks"). I will include Kuldotha Forgemaster as the price for casting it seems more than fair.

I have two questions here I hope you can help with feedback with. 1. At which point to play Sydric? 2. and how to protect her on the board from opponents and not the least my own sweepers??

For question 1. above Sydri can always play a role in protection keeping opponents creatures at bay in fear of me triggering on of my artifacts with her second ability (deathtough/lifelink). Question 2. above, as I see it can be achieved with Darksteel Plate and probably blink effects.
