I like it! One thing im running in my chainer deck is Abhorrent Overlord between him, Gray Merchant of Asphodel Phyrexian Altar and chainer equals infinite life gain, mana, and tokens until your opponents die. Check out my chainer deck and lemme know what you think.

Yeah...I kinda wanted to avoid infinite combos in this deck...because my playgroup isn't totally a fan of me combo-ing out all the time. This is a good suggestion though...so I'll consider it.

I did also check out your deck and it did give me some ideas. Thanks!

Yeah it happens. Yeah, Life's Finale is an awesome looking card. I need to get me one of those.

One thing I might suggest is recursion creatures for when you don't have token generators. Things like:

I'm sure there are other options, but these come off the top of my head.

Fun looking deck, +1

+1 I've always been a fan of sacing and killing stuff till you win. In Garruk's Wake is a nice card from m15 along with Ob Nixilis, Unshackled who grows pretty fast. If you could look at my deck it needs help. Ob Nixilis Massacre inc. (need some help)

This thing looks sick. Looking at it say the same as one of the others. Throw in some regenish creatures. Just to keep breathing room. Love this though. Ive been out of the new sets for a bit. Throw a look at my mono black if ye could

Interesting idea with the regenerating creatures. I never considered it because I was never concerned with the "breathing room." Though, from what's been recommended, I do like Bloodghast and Ob Nixilis, Unshackled .
Endless Cockroaches is a no since I would much rather reanimate something with Chainer than spend 3 on a 1/1...the same essentially for the skeleton.

Your build looks superbly well done. I can't even think of anything to recommend. Sangromancer and Gray Merchant of Asphodel will serve you well.

Black Market !

Thanks for the compliment ZombieCat. I still have yet to actually test out the deck against others though.

Nice deck +1 That moment when you do this: Decree of Pain + Sudden Spoiling

Lich + Mirror Universe is pretty fun in suicide black builds. Alternatively, Soul Conduit and Repay in Kind are good in any deck that takes a bunch of damage.

I have a whole deck based around being suicidal - Sygg's Suicide Solution.

Regenerating creatures were mentioned, and I think Spawning Pool deserves a look-in, suprise regenerating blocker and can save itself from land destruction :) Cool ideas here anyway man. I'll have to sit and work out your interactions. Been trying to build a deck with Shauku, Endbringer for ages, and wasn't sure if I should go suicide or heavy stax/control

Oh, for additional sac fodder, I would highly recommend Ophiomancer and Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder

It's also conditional, but in some situations I prefer Infernal Darkness to Contamination

Might be a bit of a stretch, but changeling effects can allow you to kill opposing creatures when Chainer dies. Nameless Inversion is a solid card, and I would swap that for Doom Blade , because it is much more versatile.

I'm not seeing how Nameless Inversion is better than Doom Blade ...

Couple of options to streamline and improve this deck.

Necropotence . Yes, I realize that anything you discard is exiled... But come on. It's just way too good of a draw engine to pass up. Yawgmoth's Bargain is an even better alternative (Though it does cost six). Damnation . I realize that this is a bit pricey (ie. Money-wise), but it's a 4 mana Wrath- Something that your deck is sorely lacking. Vampiric Tutor , Demonic Tutor , Diabolic Intent , and Grim Tutor . Yes, I realize that they are all expensive (Grim Tutor being the most by far at $190), but they're tutors- More tutors can't hurt, right? The toolbox card draw engine of doom Skullclamp + Bloodghast , Gravecrawler , Reassembling Skeleton , and Nether Traitor . It is utterly amazing. Cards such as Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder , Ophiomancer , and other token producers also compliment this combo. Yawgmoth's Will . You don't even need to combo with this card- It's that good. UrborgCoffers is the namesake enabler for YawgWin, usually. Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed . This dude. Is. Amazing. He's literally the best form of recursion ever (And he might even make for a better commander than Chainer, as this guy can get any black card from your graveyard). Only downside? He's pretty pricey at $60. (Judge promo, that is)Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos . Yes, I know that you play Butcher of Malakir . Still, I feel like the power of these cards cannot be overstated- They provide you with an insane amount of board advantage when used with one of the many sac engines that you play. Karn Liberated , All Is Dust , and Oblivion Stone . Why, you ask? Simple- Because they can remove enchantments/artifacts and other such troublesome things, which Black usually cannot deal with on its own. Karn's not the cheapest at $44, but he's real good. I play Karn Liberated in all of my EDH decks, personally.

Other than that, there's not much else that you could really add- I might be forgetting a few things, but this is a pretty good starting point for you. (Do understand that these choices that I have suggested are competitive for the most part; if you want to strictly play casually, feel free to disregard most of my suggestions.)

I like a lot of your suggestions...others I have considered before and decided against. I already run Necropotence !! Some of the suggestions I especially like are Damnation (will get one...eventually), Karn Liberated , Demonic Tutor , and Oblivion Stone . Do you have any suggestions on what to cut?

Also, my play group is semi-competitive. I haven't gotten to play recently because I've been crazy busy, so I don't know if the power level has gone up much if that helps at all with the cuts.

Also...Yawgmoth's Bargain is banned.

KillDatBUG says... #20

Hmm, that's odd- Gatherer displays Yawgmoth's Bargain as legal in Commander. Must have been an oversight on my part- Sorry!

Anyways, I have a few suggestions on what you could cut:

-Platinum Angel . It honestly doesn't really do much of anything. Sure it might keep you alive for a few more turns, but it will usually just die most of the time. Plus, a 4/4 flyer for 7 isn't that exciting on its own. -Nightmare . It's just a beater in the deck; it doesn't actually do anything to help you other than being a beatstick.-Reaper from the Abyss . I don't know about this one- It's pretty decent once you get it going, but it's not too great on it's own- Sucks when someone kills it, too. -Doom Blade . Simple reason for cutting this- It's too restrictive. If you really want targeted removal, Downfall's better.-Rescue from the Underworld . It's a cute effect, but it's just far too easy to disrupt with countermagic, removal, graveyard exile, etc.-Slaughter Pact . Like Doom Blade, it's too restrictive for my tastes. And while it is a free kill spell (which is nice), I personally don't see the need for it in multiplayer.-Darksteel Plate . It feels like too much of an investment for it to be worth playing early-mid game, and it doesn't stop targeted exile, bounce, control... It's also very slow. -Jet Medallion . Feels redundant to me. -Black Sun's Zenith . For what it's worth, I feel like you have to pump too much mana into it for it to actually be good- Like, I've always found it a little too ineffective whenever I played it for X < 6. If you want to play a good -X/-X spell, Toxic Deluge is a great option, as is Mutilate .-Exhume . Not needed, and also has the added drawback on working on your opponents as well. Play something like Necromancy instead if you want a good reanimation spell. -Life's Finale . Yes, I know that it's just been suggested. However, I personally think that it's a tad bit overcosted at 6. Think of it what you will, but I would personally cut this. -Exquisite Blood . Unless you're playing the Sanguine Bond or Vizkopa Guildmage combo, it's all but useless. -Painful Quandary . Any card that gives your opponent a choice is generally bad (With rare exceptions such as Vexing Devil being uncommon), and this one feels like a waste of deckspace. Better to make your deck more consistent than to have cute things such as this.

You could probably cut more things than this, but it's a good starting point.

KillDatBUG says... #21

Oh, and also consider one other major card choice- Harvester of Souls . He's an absolute staple in this, while also being able to provide maybe even more card advantage than the legendary Consecrated Sphinx .

ExileThis says... #22

Sorry for not responding, but Nameless Inversion is good for killing creatures in combat, pumping a dude, a non-color restrictive kill spell, or if Chainer dies, as a play on an opponent's creature (they gain all creature types, even nightmare, basically 2 mana unconditional exile.)

While Doom Blade just ends up as a dead draw in most games.

I suggest reading the card again... But unless I'm misunderstanding the card, the creature LOSES all types... Making exile by Chainer impossible

ExileThis says... #25

Whoops, I mistook it for another card. My bad. Good deck anyway, as Chainer is powerful, fun and flavorful.
