Wanted Scoundrels

Creature — Human Pirate

When Wanted Scoundrels dies, target opponent creates two colorless Treasure artifact tokens with "T, Sacrifice this artifact: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool."

Next thought I have is, what is the intent behind Okina, Temple to the Grandfathers and Shizo, Death's Storehouse? The deck doesn't have any legendary creatures to use the ability.

Finally, to make room for Creeping Corrosion, two of the cuts should be the Fangren Marauders. They can be sideboarded, but you already have good beaters with Bloodvial Purveyor and Wanted Scoundrels, and the life gain is probably the least useful payoff.

Here are the cards in your colors for treasures.

Contract Killing, Dire Fleet Hoarder, Heartless Pillage, Pitiless Plunderer, Ruthless Knave, Wanted Scoundrels, Treasure Map  Flip, Gleaming Barrier & Prying Blade

Looks like there's a few you might get some use out of.

Gleaming Barrier Wanted Scoundrels & Dire Fleet Hoarder could be a sac or ground floor chump block.

Pitiless Plunderer I would advise putting in.

Prying Blade could be useful.

Ruthless Knave Kind of a hefty sac outlet but creates treasures.

Idk if you have or not but if you're wanting a token sub-theme add Anointed Procession

then you should have a few more creatures on board like adding 1 more Hostage Taker and a full set of Deadeye Tracker maybe 2 of Fathom Fleet Captain and Wanted Scoundrels or a full set of them as well and having more counters rather than trasmute spells. for that i guess droping 2 Clutch of the Undercity and 2 Perplex and some oter spell...

for the mana base having a land that comes in tapped is really bad and you cant look for it, so if it on budget i suggest you change it for Underground River , Sunken Hollow or Drowned Catacomb .

Languish on the side or main will help with more aggro match ups, hopefully when you dont have creatures on the field.

for now i cant think of anything else so good luck.

you can drop the mill entirely and add some other form of cotrol. take out Revolutionary Rebuff and Cancel for Mana Leak or Remand , Terror and Murder for Doom Blade , Cast Down or Fatal Push if it's on budget.

you dont have card draw so any of the above could be replaced for a few Night's Whisper , Grasp of Darkness could replace Walk the Plank or a bit better dependant on meta Victim of Night .

whats your wincon? or just beat down with Wanted Scoundrels and such...

The only standard legal instant you have is Costly Plunder. I would swap the others put for stuff like Siren's Ruse and other pirate related spells. I also think Wanted Scoundrels is a very bad card. Rowdy Crew isnt particularly great either. You would do better with a playset of Dire Fleet Poisoner.other than that you are right sir, this is a grixis pirate deck!

Angrath doesn't do enough when he enters for 5 Mana.

Banefire is overcosted way to thud Yargle, Glutton of Urborg or Inferno Hellion. Amount of times I cast yargle, pass, and the opponent expects to chump block him or multiblock him is crazy. Then I thud/Gravitic Punch and they lose.

I think skizzik is weak because theft is only as good as the creature your opponent has. Although it's good sideboard for decks that do have lots of big creatures.

Wanted Scoundrels trades pretty well, but so does Hired Poisoner and Raptor Hatchling and these don't give your opponent any help.

Goblin Motivator can occasionally give you haste when you need it, but how often is that? And wouldn't you rather use him to block rather than feel like you gotta protect him for that haste he might be useful for?

Demanding Dragon is okay, the flying is great he would love the haste from motivator, but the effect is usually just a sacrifice so he makes the deck more risky. Risk in that it's hard to ensure how much damage is occurring. He's a decent fling.

I don't run direfleet ravager because I often run very close games where I will end up not blocking so I can swing for a few points, and then cast yargle or inferno hellion and thud for a win. The ravager seems to make it faster, but you gotta have cards to seal the win right after using him or you're very vulnerable.

Keldon Overseer is too much Mana for a deck that wants to win by turn 6. Theft is unreliable, might not give you a good thud creature.

Sword-Point Diplomacy is bad. Run Risk Factor the only reason is that swordpoint will let our opponent choose to take the damage on cards you need and let you have the ones you don't. Risk factor has jumpstart so you can just jam it until it works. People take about 8 damage from risk factor and then let you draw.

I like Murder over cast down because it kills anything. If it's small enough I use Lightning Strike or Shock.

Decks usually can't handle multiple casts of Gravitic Punch it wins games. Like literally win from gravitic punch on inferno hellion, pass, jumpstart to do it again and finish with thud.

I try to play a bit of aggro with Raptor Hatchling and Goblin Instigator Hired Poisoner and Viashino Pyromancer. These give me enough blockers and a bit of damage to control the board, either to cast risk factor or use lightning strikes and the like to keep the board down so I can draw until I'm ready to finish them with a thud.

Wanted Scoundrels could be good here

Interesting idea, but I think you can do better than Slippery Scoundrel. Maybe Wanted Scoundrels or dire fleet hoarder or Warkite Marauder or Hostage Taker or Deadeye Brawler or Deadeye Tracker.

Instead of Recover maybe Duress or Walk the Plank or Vanquish the Weak? Recover is really expensive and you need something to slow them down (or speed you up) while you're setting up your pieces. Maybe Sword-Point Diplomacy?

I think I'd go with Hostage Taker and Duress (with Walk the Plank and Vanquish the Weak in the sideboard).
