Ichor Rats' ETB triggers immediately—if not sooner, and gives everyone at the table a Poison Counter.

Either preemptively— with Enchantments...

(Shade's Form, Kaya's Ghostform, Demonic Vigor, Unholy Indenture)

"In response to..." / @ Instant-speed...

(Undying Evil, Supernatural Stamina, Abnormal Endurance)

"...from your graveyard to the battlefield"— Classic Reanimation...

(Unearth, Stir the Grave, or Rise Again)

Or, "...return... from your graveyard to your hand"— to be cast later...

(Gravedigger, Disturbed Burial, Morgue Theft, Tortured Existence, Footbottom Feast, Grim Discovery, Cadaver Imp, Ghoulcaller's Chant, Gravepurge, Forever Young, Corpse Cur, Morbid Plunder, Midnight Scavengers  , Fortuitous Find, Wander in Death)

Repeat steps 1-3 until everyone is dead!!

There are two flaws to the above plan

  1. To execute exactly would technically result in a draw, due to everyone dying at the exact same time...

  2. To think that anyone is going allow this process to repeat 9 times, unmolested, is rather delusional...

Therefore, it is necessary to not only overcome the symmetrical nature of Ichor Rats, but to quickly gain the advantage as well..

There are only two sources of Proliferate available in Pauper. But to resolve either of which (after the Rat) is to quasi-permanently break parity, and have the opponents be one step closer to 10 Poison Counters..
