The Theme

Ratatouille, the movie all day long!!!

The most famous quote from Ratatouille, embodying its core theme, is Chef Gusteau's motto: "Anyone can cook!" often followed by Remy's realist counterpoint, "Well, yeah, anyone can, that doesn't mean that anyone should!". With that said, let's cook.

Thoughts

Obviously, this restaurant is centered around Rat Colony. My focus for the eatery, which is still being worked on, is speed. The Head Chef is on Chef Gusteau's butt because dishes aren't getting served fast enough. I need help speeding things up in the kitchen.

I play in a typically 10 turns or less pod, which is how several of my decks run. I want the appetizers and main course meals to hit the floor hot and ready without relying on instant win combos outside of Chef Gusteau using the Kitchen Ladle. It clearly isn't going to be anywhere near cEDH at all, but I still need the entrées to hit the restaurant floor fast if I plan to have an occasional win in my 10 turns or less playgroup. Suggestions welcome!

Thrumming Stone is my favorite seasoning for this build, so let's make it spicy. Why not have it trigger for eight or even twelve times instead of just four. Sometimes a dash of pepper just isn't enough. We want to add in some habaneros, too!

Health Code Violation

Obviously, we all know that you can only use the Cook Books to look up ingredients for a recipe. Although it is a very powerful tool in the kitchen, the Kitchen Ladle is not a spice. The spices help the dish taste superior. And the nicer it is, the better is smells. Our restaurant guests might get more than what they paid for if it smells too good.

Let's cook the best dish we can. Something the guests would die for!

Chef Specials

1.) Thrumming Stone + Strionic Resonator and/or Lithoform Engine = A kitchen infestation.

2.) Marrow-Gnawer + Thornbite Staff = Immediate closure due to severe health code violations.
