Golems, Garland, and Glitter - Golem Tribal Christmas Swap Commander Deck

Welcome to Golems! Commanded by partners Ich-Tekik, Salvage Splicer and Rebbec, Architect of Ascension. With the release of Commander Legends I have been intrigued by partners and I really wanted a partner deck. Side note, my first swap deck was a partner humans deck, but then I remembered that Shane has a humans deck and decided to move away from that build (I will be building it for myself at some point).

The Plan Cast Golems, make them big with Ich, and attack, looking to opponents that can’t block due to Rebbec artifact protection! I tend to skew towards creature builds, probably because of my roots in 90’s magic where all you did was play creatures and attack!

With our budget this build is far from optimized, but I’ve had fun play testing it and tweaking to make it at least competitive.

In the early game you will want to focus on ramp, as the deck contains 13 6+ CMC cards. But that is one of the benefits of having 2 commanders. If you find yourself on turn 4 or 5 with nothing to do play Rebbec and Ich. However, I have found that waiting a turn or 2 to play ramp cards will work also.

“The weeds” of the Plan - It is very important the you wait to sacrifice artifacts life Golden Egg, Spare Supplies, Armillary Sphere, etc, until after Ich is on the battlefield to make sure you get the full value. Also, if you are fortunate enough to open the game with Genesis Chamber in your hand ALWAYS KEEP (assuming you have lands). The 1/1’s that Genesis gives the board will be a huge help to Ich as tokens hit the graveyard before evaporating. Thus they trigger Ich!

Note: I built this deck for a Christmas swap with my playgroup!
