Birds are my favorite tribal, and my favorite animals IRL. This deck is a tribute to them, really.

Derevii is a better commander than Kangee, there's just no way around it. With Kangee, you need to spend an obscene amount of mana to get any value, and you lose green. You might think green hates flying, and it does, but that allows you access to things like Bower Passage, because it turns out you will hate your opponents fliers too. It also gives us access to Birds of Paradise, one of the greatest cards in magic history and a bird to boot, as well as the newcomer Gilded Goose, a surprisingly versatile little guy who slots great into this deck.
