How much money are you willing/able to spend? A five color mana base can get expensive fast. Command Tower and Arcane Signet are pretty much everywhere, and they're reasonably affordable. City of Brass, Mana Confluence, and Reflecting Pool are some higher-end options, and fetch lands + triomes are good too. If you want some lower-budget options, look to cards like Rupture Spire, Vivid Crag, Survivors' Encampment, or Mirrodin's Core--keep in mind that what you save in money, you lose in speed and efficiency, so if you want the "best" land base, be ready to shell out several hundred dollars.

As far as bracketing, the guidelines are being modified right now. I would put this as lower Bracket 3, with two game changers. I don't see any fast combos that can win a match around turn 3, and it's not ridiculously oppressive and stax-y.

As another card suggestion, Fist of Suns gives your commander some redundancy, and Birds of Paradise, Bloom Tender, and the Hierarchs (Noble and Ignoble) would give you some more early-game options.

DemonDragonJ I'm a little mixed on it. It does give you an effect that you want stapled to a piece of ramp, so that's good in terms of getting extra utility out of your card slots. Both of your commanders appreciate the effect as a way to quickly boost their power. While both decks do have cards that can give counters to other creatures, it seems like most of the cards that deal with counters just put those counters on themselves so the Kami won't be getting bigger too often. If you have the card already then it wouldn't hurt to toss it into the decks but keep in mind that it's a slow 3 mana ramp piece when ideally you would probably rather be casting your commander at that point in your curve.

What I'm surprised to not see in your lists are copies of Birds of Paradisefoil, as well as Noble Hierarch in Jenara. Both Marath and Jenara want to come down quick to start doing their thing so Birds of Paradise is one of the best first turn plays you could make to try to have all the colours you need to cast your commander on turn 2.

Lord_of_Lords It looks like there's only one Horse card in the deck. There's a minimum for a checkbox to show up as a hub option--I think you need three Horse cards for it to show up. The suggested check boxes show up for the apparent main themes (it would be annoying if the Bird checkbox showed up for every deck that runs Birds of Paradise as their only Bird creature), but can sometimes miss if a deck is built around a commander's ability or subtype.

As a workaround, try adding a couple of "dummy" Horse cards to the decklist and see if the checkbox shows up. If it does, check it and remove the dummies. That's worked in the past, but there's been a couple of site updates since I tried it last. Also, maybe put a suggestion into the List of Bugs and Feature Requests thread here asking if commander cards could make related checkbox hubs show up. The programmers have a lot going on, so it might not work, but it can't hurt to ask.

To cut the cost, my first thought is to just add more Lotus Petals. Move it from Vintage to Legacy, and change the Moxen and Lotus to more Petals and maybe Birds of Paradise. The other big outlier is the Savannah, and my switch there would be Razorverge Thicket.

Further cost cutting would be the tutors. Eladamri's Call is probably okay, and Altar of Bone can step in for one of the more expensive options.

After that, it gets tough, and the core of the deck would start changing. Anyway, that's where I would look if you want to make this more accessible.

This looks pretty good Snekattack. Not sure if you're aware, but Mana Crypt was recently banned from the format, so maybe replace it with another cheap mana rock or a Birds of Paradise. It could also be replaced with Amulet of Vigor, to ensure even your triomes enter untapped. Or just leave Crypt in; not all metas care about the cards banned for EDH.

Considering the budget for this deck, I wonder why none of the ancient dragons made it in. Ancient Copper Dragon and Ancient Silver Dragon are insanely good; especially when you're copying their effects with cards like Roaming Throne. Ancient Copper also synergizes well with Hellkite Charger (just like Old Gnawbone; providing potential fuel for each new attack with each attack.

The new 'dragon storm' cards from the new Tarkir set, also have great potential in Dragon-tribal. They allow for great (often repeatable) benefit, for very fair mana costs. Interested to know what you think of these and whether they would fit your deck.

Matteby2813 I really enjoy what you've created here! I also like the image of a peasant-king Kenrith who has to "grow his kingdom" with like, +1/+1 counters and other resources.

  • There's a ton of "treasures and trinkets" (mana rocks you'd expect like Sol Ring or Arcane Signet) but furthered development to the theme like Staff of Domination and Explorer's Scope to help you mana fix.

  • The investment in the theme with those smart choices and things like Replicating Ring and Everflowing Chalice to reinforce he does, in fact, have family relics that imbue some kind of supernatural kind of effect. I dunno, I just think this deck does enough to develop a strong imagination!

  • I really appreciate how the list includes very obscure choices like Corpsejack Menace alongside the greatest cast of includes like Conclave Mentor and pretty much every scale-able and adjacent effect you could think of to include in the first place. It's a full serving and then some committed to the task of adding +1/+1 counters, so that's worth mentioning for sure. Great job!

  • I see haymaker cards that really seal a strong game like Faithful Watchdog and I'm so so proud to see a card like that. Why? Because in your deck, in your vision.. you saw a man who is doing whatever it takes to succeed and his best friend.. who happens to be a f@#$%king bomb for your concept! 13/10 win for the deck.

  • I really like how your deck tackles the issue of 5 colors by balancing a lot of the game after turn , which, is where you typically lead with something Green. Since this is already the case, maybe think of inclusions like Birds of Paradise since it creates one of any color? That seems to be your gameplan, is to provide one-of-any after turn .

  • I noticed you kept the Gorgon around for the list. I'm just curious as to her inclusion, and wondering if you're shipping them with Kenrith.. dare I say.. SCanDal....? I'm just joking. But no really- why include her here? Just the one-off win condition of poision death? I get it.. but wondered if you really fancied Vraska. I know I do!

Forgot to mention mana dorks as a possible avenue to a speed-increase, like Birds of Paradise, Bloom Tender, Fanatic of Rhonas, Somberwald Sage, etc.
