This Stompy list isn't budget, its hardcore competitive. When I built my mono-green stompy to great success, I just knew there was room for improvement in a color splash, I just didn't know which color was best or to what level it had to be taken.

When you take out all those extra green pips you give up just a bit on raw power, but you gain twofold in versatility and customization, while at the same time improving on many shaky matchups.

I started with Voice of Resurgence, knowing that I wanted to give blue reactionary decks bigger headaches, and Voice does that all with a recursive body, which is amazing. Then I realized that in Origins lies one of the most value-packed Savannah Lions ever to have existed: Kytheon, Hero of Akros  . This card is great as a T1 play for pressure, and amazing later when you can play him and pay to keep him alive, and either way when he flips the card is just pure gold!

One concern for moving into this solidly two-color direction is the life lost in order to make the mana work, an issue that is solved by replacing the Dismember in the removal slot with Path to Exile (which could also be Swords to Plowshares if life is really that big of issue for the deck), as well as adding Kitchen Finks to the top end for the extra life. Sure Finks isn't as big as Leatherback Baloth, but they're recursive, and I was never too impressed with the big green dummies in my mono list.

Dromoka's Command just seems like real good value. The card acts as Splinter Twin breaker numbers 10 and 11 (behind Vines of Vastwood , Path to Exile, and Spellskite), Burn defense, and board control, all while doing an additional thing like pumping one of your guys.

The final huge advantage to adding white is the access to excellent sideboard cards. The sideboard can now be tuned to beat any deck you desire, whether its Gaddock Teeg in to beat Tron, Kataki, War's Wage for affinity, Rest in Peace for reanimator, Dauntless Escort for control (a stretch, but could be good if they run lots of boardwipes), Kor Firewalker for burn, or Mirran Crusader for G/B/x decks. The possibilites are nearly endless, and allow you to completely dominate the field if you are able to correctly predict an environment.

So there you have it. Keep in mind that this is a brew and a work in progress, so obviously I don't know everything, and I highly value any input or insight. Thank you for viewing and don't forget to +1!!
