Kamigawa is my favorite plane in Magic. I love the wild, natural energy of the kami creatures. The art of cards like Kami of Fire's Roar, Patron of the Orochi and Myojin of Infinite Rage captured my imagination.

So, as a bit of a nostalgia play, I set out to make a spirit tribal deck. And it just so happens that the only five-color spirit comes from Kamigawa -- O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami.

While I'd love to stuff the deck full of kami and call it a day, there are just too many good spirit cards throughout Magic's history. Drogskol Captain, Supreme Phantom and Patrician Geist all give lord-type buffs for spirit cards. Hofri Ghostforge can too, plus it provides additional protection for all my creatures by making copies of them when they die. That gets me extra value off of enters the battlefield triggers from cards like Grey Host Reinforcements or Skyclave Apparition. And it double up the protection abilities of creatures like Kami of False Hope and Selfless Spirit.

There are also a number of spirit creatures with "play/cast a spirit" effects, including Loam Dweller, Petalmane Baku and Elder Pine of Jukai. One of my favorite cards in the deck is Glitterfang. For one red mana a turn, I can continually play him from my hand, proccing those triggers every time. And if Reflections of Littjara or Roaming Throne are on the table, those triggers can multiply even more.

This deck is aggressive, and every synergy piece that resolves ratchets it another gear. It hits you from a lot of different directions and can get out of hand very quickly if not dealt with in a timely manner.
