Arcane spells and "Splice onto Arcane" is a pretty mediocre mechanic right?

Actually, maybe not in EDH. Let me explain:

• First of all, the slowness of the format means that there is time to ramp and build a mana base that can support it.

• Secondly, as soon as I have a card with "Splice onto Arcane" in my hand and enough mana, I can cast the spell each time I cast another arcane spell and it will always be available unless discarded. I just need to make sure that most of my spells are arcane spells.

• I chose Melek, Izzet Paragon as my commander because of a neat trick that is maybe not obvious. If I cast an arcane spell from the top of my library with Melek and splice in other arcane spells, the copies will have the spliced effects as well. So its possible to do 4, 6, 8 or more things at once by only playing one card!

• Also Buyback benefits a lot from EDH and stays in the hand just like the splice spells.

So I decided to build a deck focused around those two mechanics and the result is a deck full of arcane shenanigans that at the very least, is fun to play, and at the best, a deck that will make your friends cry and go home =)
