Legendary Creature - Sphinx

Flying, convoke.

When ~ becomes tapped, detain a permanent.

Activated abilities you control that have a mana cost gain convoke (you may tap any number of untapped creatures you control while activating the ability. Each creature tapped this way pays for or one mana of any of its colours.)

: Scry 1, then draw a card, then scry X, where X is the number of creatures tapped to activate this ability, and draw half X cards, rounding down. Then, if ~ was tapped this way, scry 1 and gain life equal to the number of cards in your hand.

Forecast , Reveal ~ from your hand: Tap up to 2 target permanents and you may put a creature card from your graveyard on the top of your library. Activate this ability only during your upkeep.

OH BOY THAT IS WORDY!

Make a 3 faced creature. What I mean is a non-legendary creature that has the ability to transform into a card like Cunning Bandit  ^Flip, where they start non-legendary (after transforming) then turn legendary by meeting some criteria.

I'd like a legendary creature made generic, like before they were notable:

Akki Lavarunner  ^Flip, Kitsune Mystic  ^Flip, Cunning Bandit  ^Flip, Budoka Pupil  ^Flip, Bushi Tenderfoot  ^Flip, Callow Jushi  ^Flip, Hired Muscle  ^Flip, etc. but not necessarily a transforming card. Disruptive Student and Hanweir, the Writhing Township from Hanweir Battlements+Hanweir Garrison are also cool possibilities, any other ideas I'm eager to see!

Maybe Callow Jushi ? You can build up counters pretty fast, and then lock your opponent from playing stuff for a while. Also a pretty good clock. Cunning Bandit can be S.B. tech to essentially fog creatures for a while. Ore Gorger can be an expensive SB plan against some decks to wipe their lands away, but I'm iffy on it. You can also use Goblin Electromancer to help you cast spells. Also consider Sift Through Sands and The Unspeakable in the S.B.

Hey all,

I'm wondering, since Tawnos's Coffin tracks counters on a permanent, does it also track the transformed status of the permanent? For example, if I have a Cunning Bandit that has transformed, and has two ki counters on it, and I exile it with the coffin then untap the coffin, does it return as a Bandit with two counters, or as Azamuki with two counters?

Lets focuson what really matteres:

There are 654 legendary creatues and the list only has 620!

Even when you account for banned commanders it's clear that some have been Neglected!

Akki Lavarunner / Tok-Tok, Volcano Born Check out the Oracle text here. There is absolutely nothing that needed to be changed which can only mean WotC wanted people to refer to this card as an object based on the legendary half.

Cunning Bandit / Azamuki, Treachery Incarnate Same thing as Akki Lavarunner.

Budoka Gardener / Dokai, Weaver of Life

Budoka Pupil / Ichiga, Who Topples Oaks

I know all about the whole "the unflipped card has to be blah blah blah" arguement but again check out the pages. The "Oracle" text is the exact same as the "printed" text only they just use half of the card for the oracle text. They treat the card as if the unflipped portion doesn't exist no matter which half of the card you navigate to in the DB. Furthermore they give the "flipped" part a mana cost so that you can cast it directly.

The cards still suck but hey it's something.

So thinking of making a legendary based 5 tier kamigawa deck. Thoughts on how i would go about this?

I was already thinking of the shrines, time of need ect and a way to get the land out such as evolving wilds.

From a creature stand point i was thinking cards that proc'd from the use of spirit/arcane low cost the likes of the flip legendaries Cunning Bandit to high cost creatures such as Bounteous Kirin and Oyobi, Who Split the Heavens

EDIT: While suggestions are welcome i am trying to keep this to legendary spirit creatures that proc with each other such as Oyobi, Who Split the Heavens only

Enchantment wise was thinking the likes of the shrines Honden of Life's Web

To get the fatties out faster maybe a Quicksilver Amulet or two

Again just a thought would love to hear ideas
