Cost reduction is so fun to abuse. With Vadrik, Astral Archmage fun comes easy. What screams mage more than being powerful and casting large spells to blow up your enemies? Well with Vadrik that is exactly what you will be doing.

Loaded with cheap pump spells like Titan's Strength You will aim to beef up Vadrik and then turn around and use his cost reduction to pay very little to cast X cost spells, like Jaya's Immolating Inferno , and nuke your opponents. In some situations you could even use You Come to a River to just swing in and take someone out with Commander damage.

Deck's like this often run into the issue of having all the mana but nothing to spend it on. So to capitalize on Vadrik more there are a few X cost draw spells mixed in such as Mind Spring. Keep your opponents locked down with counter spells like Spell Burst. And even use the many spells you cast to chip away at all your opponents at once with Guttersnipe.

Vadrik really takes you back to the traditional Sorcerers of old. How big can you make that fireball? Happy Roasting!

(11/21 Update) - Swapped in a few colorless spells to capitalize on Vadrik making them free to cast. Also put in Serpentine Ambush in exchange for Goblin Electromancer as Vadrik does well enough without the assist and being able to raise his base P/T really helps for a quick bump. In matches I have played it was very easy to get to the point where spells cost next to nothing so having more free cast options felt beneficial.
