Introduction to Prophecy

Sorcery — Lesson

Scry 2, then draw a card.

NV_1980 thanks for you input!

I already have Ugin, the Ineffable as well as Nevinyrral's Disk in the list.

In the draw department, I shy away from sorcery speed draws like Introduction to Prophecy because I'd like to have as much open mana as I can to allow interactions when it's not my turn. Also, I'd rather ramp than play an expensive drop like Mind's Eye and pay additional ~3 during each opponent's turn. 2-drop draw engines like Mazemind Tome and Endless Atlas would be the best for this.

As for the Urza's Incubator, it's true that I've been eyeing this for a while. This can cheat Ulamog way earlier than I already could (imagine I also have Inspiring Statuary on the field-- oh boy, that's free 3!). But just for more flexibility, I'm leaning towards Cloud Key. And if I would spend 20 bucks on an Urza's Incubator, I guess it'll be for a Sensei's Divining Top instead.

Would definitely recommend Mind's Eye for some additional draw opportunity. Maybe Introduction to Prophecy as well. I'm also a big fan of Ugin, the Ineffable in mono-colorless because he makes everything cheaper. Urza's Incubator makes sense as well in that regard, though it's a more expensive card and has more limited use. Last, but not least, I would really consider Nevinyrral's Disk (if you haven't already), because it's such a powerful reset button and mono-colorless is great at recovery from wipes because of its speed.

Veryyy cool build.

I think classic hand control like Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek could help you hit your combo.

A big include could be Collected Company to dig two demons out at the end of your opponents turn.

Finally I like the Poet's Quill in general but flesh-out the side with more options to dig into. Introduction to Prophecy Cram Session and Introduction to Annihilation add diversity.

You'll probably want closer to 38 lands, so that should get you pretty close to 100 cards by itself. Past that, Introduction to Annihilation, Transmogrifying Wand, Bonder's Ornament, Introduction to Prophecy, Investigator's Journal, Mind Stone, Brittle Effigy, and Ebony Fly are all great options as well. Good luck!

Introduction to Prophecy seems like an easy inclusion here. Similar to Tezz's Gambit, but scry 2 instead of one of the draws, and no proliferate. Also, thoughts on including Silundi Vision  Flip as another way to dig 6?

With Strixhaven comes some new colorless tools for us, check these out:

This is definitely going to be an opinion-filled thread, but I'll throw my hat in.

I disagree wholeheartedly. In fact I'd go so far as to say Strixhaven is the only set I've been actually excited for in what feels like ages. Eldraine was somewhat exciting but before that... Dominaria? Again this is entirely subjective and I'm not here to tell anyone they're wrong about their opinion on a product. But I'm looking forward to Strixhaven.

Introduction to Annihilation is the worst example I could possibly think of to argue blurring the line between colors. Scour from Existence , Universal Solvent , Meteor Golem , Unstable Obelisk , Spine of Ish Sah , Colorless permanent removal is far from new or color warping. Most of the lessons, like Introduction to Prophecy , will mostly be inconsequential imo because, to be frank, they're bad. 3 for a Serum Visions ? Even mono-white isn't THAT desperate for draw.

WOTC is trying to force us into playing golgari lifegain

I'm stoked to finally get golgari lifegain support. If that's not your style, I get it, but I'm happy for it personally.

Galazeth Prismari feels like a case of catering to EDH. Adding red to your deck options and tapping artifacts for any color instead of blue feels like more of a sidegrade than a downgrade. We'll have to see how it does imo.

As for Beledros Witherbloom , a wise man once said of Prophet of Kruphix : If you think this card costs mana, you've been fooled. As for "This card may not be used in any infinite mana combo", actually it says "Flicker me". It's not in good colors for that, but I could see a BUG deck getting infinite mana out of this if they can find a way to supply the life. Deadeye Navigator says hi.

Release, experience, and hindsight will probably affect everyone's opinions on Strixhaven, as it has every set before it. So I generally try to take a "wait and see" approach, even if MTG doesn't have a great record for what I've waited for and seen recently imo.
