My WIP version of aggro zombies (ub). Trying to work something around blood artist + diregraf captain. Although I'd much rather have the core be something faster, I'm unsure of what to go with in that regard.

I would like to stick with ub (rather than splashing in a third colour) because it grants access to the counter spells of blue and still allows me to run a bbb card like geralf's messenger (people tend to side grave hate such as rest in peace, anger of the gods -> exile beats this deck, or grafdiggers cage).

Bloodghast feels too good not to run, however, I'd rather the deck be pure zombies. Advice on justifying taking out bloodghast and replacing it with something else would be much appreciated. Also makes me consider what else is not a zombie and would be nice to replace with a different mechanic, blood artist comes to mind first.

Also need help with land... not sure how necessary it is to have the fetches and shocks in there, I do like to have the darkslick shores as they offer quicker access to the optional blue mana when needed. Also questioning the quantity, I've been advised that 23 is the standard number of lands to run in an aggro deck, would that still be viable for this deck or am I good with 22?

For draw power when needed i have disciple of bolas and costly plunder, both questionable in my opinion but i think plunder is a better option in the sense that it costs less, that being said, I'm considering altar's reap over disciple.

One option to replace diregraf ghoul would be blood scrivener, if the deck is fast enough that i actually dump my hand this could be something I consider.

The sideboard would consist mainly of blue or ub counterspells, I've considered that it would slow down the deck but essentially they would be in there specifically for when people side in grave hate (or exile) cards, also most of the decks which side in those cards are control style combo decks which generally take a few turns to set up, therefore slowing down the deck to throw in a few counters is justified (please let me know your thoughts on the issue as it's pretty much the only way i can think of possibly making this a deck that can win in the current modern format meta). Also need advice on what else to put in the side board as currently it's just 8 counterspells (other options in the maybe board, please have a look and offer your suggestions if you have the time).

Any advice offered for the deck is appreciated. Please let me know what you think in the comments below.

The maybe board consists of cards I think could be useful either in the main deck or side board and either not sure of how to synergize them properly with the current list or if they would be more suited to a conpletely different deck altogether.
