Maybeboard

Current Objective: Survive.

The goal of this deck is to whether the storm and outlast your opponents. Fly under the radar by not presenting many threats, and maybe get lucky and come out on top. I avoided anything that might get the ire of my opponents, such as resource denial, hate bears, and life drain.

This is by no means an effective strategy as it is built here. There aren't a lot of ways for this deck to get first in a game, but there's plenty of ways for it to get second.

Damage reduction is the deck's main way to stay in the game. being able to shrug off any amount of small hits makes this deck untouchable against some strategies. Valkmira, Protector's Shield   has this built in, which is why it's the commander of the deck.

I also included Amulet of Safekeeping as it's effects are very similar to Valkmira's.

Sometimes reducing damage by 1 isn't enough to stop yourself from dying. The cards in this section prevent the big instances of damage from taking you out.

Selfless Squire is just about the only card in magic gives more upsides to preventing damage. Not only will it eat the blast from an AEtherflux, it'll also get bigger every time Valkmira reduces damage.

When all else fails, not being able to die is a good thing to fall back on.
With this deck being a budget deck I saved some money in this section while still staying on target. The removal I chose to include focuses mostly on attacking creatures. Once my opponents know my deck and that the removal is structured this way, it'll only be more of an incentive to not attack me.

The counterspells also made it into this section. Spell removal is still removal.

I chose some mostly normal board wipes for a control strategy. Phyrexian Rebirth is expensive, but can send you from no board state into board winning lethal in one move.
The card draw cards that I chose fit the strategy of the deck well. Generally they are slow or they are symmetrical effects that benefit opponents. Some of them care about life gain, which this deck does part time.
These sections are pretty straight forward. I didn't use much of the budget to make these sections mote efficient. I bling out my mana base for some decks, but the strategy of this deck doesn't need it.
Cards in this section either fit in no other section, or multiple other sections.

Sun Titan might get replaced some day with a card like Open the Vaults.

This deck wasn't optimized to take gold at any tournament, but it was designed to have a chance to win. The cards in this section are a few Bombs that, in the right scenario, can steal the win.

Onr notable exclusion is card:Approach of thr Second Sun. The reason I chose to not include it is that I hate losing to it. I justdon't want to do that same thing I hate to others.

Any tips or recommendations are greatly appreciated!
