Siona is an anagram of "Iason" - the original romanized spelling of Jason, captain of the Argonauts in greek mythology. Jason brought together a crew of greek heroes to retrieve the golden fleece.

Our Crew parallels that of the ancient Argos

Heracles, better known in his own stories, was present on the Argos as part of Jason's crew. Known for his godly strength, his influence is felt on the Pyleas in the following forms.

Big hitters: All That Glitters, Alpha Status, Ancestral Mask, Ethereal Armor, Sage's Reverie, Sigil of the Nayan Gods, Heavenly Blademaster, Setessan Champion, Kor Spiritdancer

The Boreads were the sons of Boreas the north wind, and served as the scouts for the Argos, on the Pyleas, some of these cards fill their roles.

Finders: Boonweaver Giant, Heliod's Pilgrim, Totem-Guide Hartebeest, Idyllic Tutor, Open the Armory, Plea for Guidance

Castor and Polux are the origin of the constellation of Gemini. The myth goes that while Castor was the son of his mortal father, Polux was sired by Zeus. Born as twins - they grew up together, adventured together, and sought answers together. When it became evident that Polux was immortal, but Castor was aging as a mortal, Polux petitioned Zeus to grant his immortality to his brother as well, which was granted by setting them as constellations in the sky.

These Gemini twins are always seeking information. On the Pyleas they are found here.

Card draw: Eidolon of Blossoms, Kor Spiritdancer, Setessan Champion, Enchantress's Presence, Sage's Reverie, Season of Growth,

Peleus would, after his adventures on the Argos go on to become king of the Mermadons, and father of the better known Achiles. While a formidable warrior in his own right, much of what he did in his life was done through the aid of others, who he aided in turn. On the Pyleus his gift is found in these.

Cost reduction: Danitha Capashen, Paragon, Herald of the Pantheon, Hero of Iroas, Starfield Mystic, Transcendent Envoy,

Atlanta is the fleet footed maiden, best known for a later footrace that she lost, despite being the fastest woman around. On the Argos she followed Meleager, a prince she loved and who loved her, but was unable to consummate that love due to prophesy and oath. Her fleetfooted evasion is found on the Pyleas in these forms.

Evasion: Spirit Mantle, Pentarch Ward, Holy Mantle, Guildscorn Ward, Flickering Ward,

When Jason arrived in Colchis (modern day Georgia on the black sea coast) the sorceress daughter of the sorcerer king of that land fell in love with Jason, and gave him unparalleled aid. Medea's aid is found on the Pyleas in the shape of some of these transformations. This deck has every effect I could find in green and white to turn an opponent's commander into something else a little less effective.

Transformations: Darksteel Mutation, Lignify, Song of the Dryads, Kenrith's Transformation, to a lesser extent Detainment Spell, and Prison Term

Captain of the Argonauts, and paralleled here by Siona, Captain of the Pyleas, his presence is distinctly felt here in hers. Two easy infinities arise from her abilities.

Shielded by Faith + Siona, Captain of the Pyleas or Siona, Captain of the Pyleas + reins of the vinestead + a sac outlet and 2 tokens

The crew is important, but more important is our hero. She gathers her crew and the godly blessings they possess, and they in turn allow her to rise into legend.
