Multrotha's brawl advantage

Brawl*

Black-ego

Brawl deck made for advantage game.

The Why's:

25 lands:

You want to make a landdrop each turn. Most value is gained from Multrotha, but that costs mana

--> Still evaluating the 3 cycle deserts in the deck (replacing with basics?)

  • They generate advantage by getting cycled and played from graveyard with Multrotha
  • The "comes into play tapped" is a big slow down in this deck
  • Other lands are better suited for advantage (evolving wilds, memorial & field of ruins)

Creatures:

The creatures in this deck are chosen because of the fuctionality & advantage (2 for 1)

--> Mana creatures are nesserey to keep up the pace of the game

  • Intiate and Drover are able to crew the vehicles later in the game

--> Good 2v1 cards

  • Chupacabra, Hostage Taker, 2x Gearhulks, Ghonti

--> Cycleablity for recasting with Multrotha

  • Walking Balista, Yahenni, Brontodon

--> Gods for their abilities:

  • Survive removal, and they can power vehicles while not active
  • Drawing cards/push trough (trample) the weatherlight for card advantage

--> Creatures are also chosen for their multi-types:

  • Gearhulks, walking balista can be recast as artifact or as creature with Multrotha
  • Most creatures are aritacts or legendaries to be "drawn" by weatherlight.
  • Artifact creatures turn on underhand designs

Plainswalkers:

  • Vraska generates atrifacts, and clears stuff
  • Nissa is mainly for enemy plainswalker removal (haste 5/5), but drawing cards from lands is also very powerfull in this deck

Artifacts:

--> This deck has 3 powerfull vehecles mostly for enemy plainswalker removal (not a creature during your turn), but also functionality:

  • Weatherlight hits herois cards: 19 other heroics in this deck
  • Caravan produces mana
  • Skyship removes creatures/plainswalkers
  • Other artifact have powerfull cycling capabilities that can are nuts with Multrotha

Enchantments:

--> blood fast and journey:

  • Both "heroic", generate mana
  • Blood fast is a draw engine early game, and life save late game. Also a sacrifice outlet so creatures can be "re-used" with Multrotha
  • Journey proveides accesable usablity of utiliy creatures as intant, or when Multrotha is not on the battlefield
  • Saga, growth and designs provide great cycle-ablity with Multrotha

Instants & Sorceries:

I Minimized these in this deck because they are not reusable with Multrotha.

However they can be "recycled" with torrent gearhulk.

I put these in to offer the deck for:

  • More resiliance versus plainswalkers (especially if they are the enemy brawl commander)
  • More artifact/enchantment removal, since this format has need for a lot of that
  • An occasional removal or Save (blossoming) when needed.

Future deck development:

  • Im looking for a Karn, scoin of urza to add to this list. Its tokens are powerfull in this deck as well it is heroic. I don't know what to cut for it tho..

  • Another card i want to add is sorcerous spyglass, but same problem as Karn... what to cut??

  • I'm also experimenting with mass removal, since this deck has little (only Saga), with Yahenni's expertise or rags//rithches. But so far they do not perform as would like in this deck and are not re-usable by Multrotha

  • I tested the deck also with a bunch of counters, but that did not develop the deck as I wanted it to be, an advantage deck. (Also a nonbo with Multrotha).
