Latest iteration of my colossus deck, finally starting to feel good about it. Idea is to use Metalwork Colossus' affinity for fast 4 x 10/10 lineup and support them with different cards. If your opponent gets rid of your colossus plan B is Tezzeret, manlands and Masters of Etherium that can win surprisingly easily on their own when boosted with equipment.

I'm by no means a pro player so the deck is what it is, just came back after 15 years of radio silence about the game and found this lovely site :).

I'm not sure what constitutes as a "Budged" deck, but I'd say that ~100$ is pretty cheap for a working, fun to play deck.

Main

Dread Statuary - Supporting manland or just plan B if your opponent plays something like Lobotomy. Works well with Master of Etheriums abilities.

Drift of Phantasms - Flying wall with tutor possibility

Fabricate - Good tutor for almost anything you can need from your library.

Fieldmist Borderpost/Mistvein Borderpost - Good ramp for Colossus, usually a first turn card if you don't have or dont want to play Serum Visions

Fleetfeather Sandals - Good boost of speed for your creatures, delivers your dmg. Tutor it after you have secured your Colossus.

Hedron Archive - Solid ramp for Colossus, when you play this you whould be able to play atleast one or two Colossus at the same turn

Inventors' Fair - Tutoring and added bonus of 1up per turn.

Island - you need one basic land fast as it's needed for Borderposts to work as intended, no other reason for having this many basic lands in this deck.

Master of Etherium - Plan B and supporter, excellent manacost as you can tutor it out with Drift of Phantasms in addition of other tutors this deck has. Supports both Colossus and Dread Statuary well and gets nice synergy from both.

Metalwork Colossus - Your bread and butter, in theory if all goes well you can have all of these out in relatively short time (4 or 5 turns), add equipment and that's about it. Hard to permanently take out and easy to return if they get bounced.

Mind Stone - Solid ramp for Colossus.

Sanctum of Ugin - Tutors you a Colossus when you cast one.

Serum Visions - One of my favorite cards in modern. Really helps you to plan your turns and if you get this in your opening hand can totally save the day even if your had weaker hand that hoped for.

Talisman of Progress - Another ramp for Colossus, can give you if needed.

Tamiyo's Journal - Regeneration generator for colossi, added bonus of having clues

Tezzeret the Seeker - Tutoring, untapping and burts of creatures. Really good planeswalker for us, can get really creative with Mycosynth Lattice if you want to add it to the deck.

Treasure Mage - Tutor and meatshield

Cool stuff that I either could not fit in or think would need too many changes to the decks composition that I decided not to include in this iteration. I had this combo in for a while, but pretty much never got to use it so i took it out:

March of the Machines - good for locking down every opponents game by removing all of their lands with Mycosynth Lattice while we can either play just with our mana artifacts or tutor Master of Etherium and have 1/1 lands, just make sure you have all the colossus you want in play before you cast this as it kills their affinity. If you need to replay Colossus or need to get rid of the card for some other reason, tutor out Mycosynth Lattice and Unsummon march back to your hand.

Mycosynth Lattice - Makes Master of Etherium a beast and can lock down your opponents mana with March of the Machines. Tutor it only if needed/you got cards to go with it, it's a huge boost when you play it at the right time but it's a rare occasion when you actually get to use it though.
