Chariot of Victory Discussion

oliveoilonyaasscureshemorrhoid on Tiana's Enchanting Equipment

Hey, I'm an experienced Tiana pilot and would love to help! ( my deck link here ).

The first thing I would change is Wrath of God and Blasphemous Act because creature-only board wipes destroy the creatures, then the auras, so Tiana won't trigger for any of your auras. But board wipes like Hour of Revelation , Day of Reckoning, End Hostilities , Nevinyrral's Disk , Cataclysmic Gearhulk , Tragic Arrogance etc would make Tiana trigger on your auras. You could put in Auratog or Faith Healer so you respond to creature-only board wipes, or put in indestructible stuff like Hammer of Nazahn , Shielded by Faith , Kytheon, Hero of Akros  Flip etc.

Bludgeon Brawl has cool synergy with Tiana, because if Vandalblast , Scrap Mastery , Hour of Revelation etc are cast, then Tiana will trigger on your artifacts too. And if you include this, consider adding artifacts that sacrifice themselves like Unstable Obelisk , Commander's Sphere , Boros Locket , Boros Cluestone , Orazca Relic .

Along with self-sacrificing artifacts, I loved the idea of self-sacrificing auras and recycling them over and over with Tiana, especially with Sigil of the Empty Throne or Ajani's Chosen on the battlefield. Auras like Capashen Standard , Mortal Obstinacy , Flamespeaker's Will , Brand of Ill Omen , Sun Clasp , Weight of Conscience , Bound by Moonsilver , Lunarch Mantle , Uncontrolled Infestation , Inferno Fist , Guilty Conscience etc.

Other than the aforementioned cards, I'll also mention Mistmeadow Skulk which dodges board wipes, the new Swiftblade Vindicator and Smothering Tithe , Fabled Hero and other heroic cards that benefit from the aura recycling, Forgeborn Oreads and Scroll of the Masters and Mesa Enchantress for the aura recycling, Ethereal Armor , Helm of the Gods , Heavenly Blademaster , Laccolith Rig is stupid but fun, Heirloom Blade because RW sucks at draw (except this deck if you add auras that draw).

If I wanted to cut some cards from your deck, I would start with Order since it's 4 mana for a really narrow removal spell, and 3 mana to do something that odric or angelic skirmisher do (which is creatures so can be brought back into the game easier). Kwende, Pride of Femeref is essentially a 4/4 for 4 mana and is only useful for Tiana. Kitsune Mystic isn't needed with all the sacrificing and such. Authority of the Consuls and Godsend and Basilisk Collar isn't that impactful for an aggro strategy. Whispersilk Cloak gives shroud which isn't the best for a deck all about auras and equipment. Chariot of Victory isn't that good and doesn't add any power. And I would take out as many tapped lands as you don't mind, they slow down decks way too much, add Battlefield Forge .

Hope this helps makes your deck stronger!

I really like the concept of this deck. I have a few things that combine deathtouch and trample, but no all-deathtouch decks. That may need to change. :-) Evasion, such as flying and fear are nice to include in the mix, as you have. After all, the opponent may be running some deathtouch too. Your Viridian Longbow and Nature's Way go a long way to cover that base as well. Still, there's nothing like trample for a deathtoucher, as it lets you kill another critter along the way, and even against an indestructible blocker, it lets you deliver all but one power to the face or to take out several blockers if they want to line 'em up like dominos for ya.

That said, I'd try to find a place for more trample action, either in the critters themselves or in the buffs.
Some stuff I've found useful in your deck's colors:
Rabid Bite - Similar to Nature's Way but not quite as good
Larger Than Life , Wildsize - Trample + Buff
Bow of Nylea - More useful if you don't already have all deathtouchers
Champion of Lambholt , Overrun , Prowler's Helm , Rogue's Passage , Whispersilk Cloak - Evasion
Deadly Recluse - Another deathtouching early blocker, but this one has reach.
Ambush Viper - So sweet when they don't see it coming

First strike is also really nice in a deathtoucher, but if you try to have everything, it dilutes a deck too much.
Or can you . . . ? Chariot of Victory - First Strike + Trample + Haste and reusable

For some more fun and games with deathtouch, check out my Death-Ray Infect (B/R). Nothing quite like giving deathtouch to a Goblin Sharpshooter . Bwa Ha Haaaa! ;-)

Just recently built Phage the Unstoppable and I think this is my favorite voltron commander. Super explosive and scary.

Liking your list a lot. See a lot of mono black good stuff. Good utility land base. Nether Void is just evil and perfect for Phage.

My only suggestions would be Chariot of Victory was made for Phage and Heartless Summoning is great in my list and has potential in yours.

My two cuts would be Lotus Petal and Thrull Wizard. Could probably benefit from trimming 4 other creatures and adding some Phage focused cards.

Chariot of Victory, Helm of Kaldra and Haunted Cloak all give your commander haste. also maybe consider running Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth with Cabal Coffers for mana ramp if you have them. Evil Twin seems like it would fit your theme as well.

@MDKcommander

The Kaldra Set was a part of this deck from the beginning until early 2015. Improvements to Equipment since creating this deck have antiquated them:

The major nail in the coffin is the inconsistency in having the entire set together at once. Burning tutors isn't a real solution, as grabbing relatively mediocre Equipment in the hopes to have fun with an essentially immortal 9/9 isn't that efficient.

Hey there!

I think with this commander some more haste-giving stuff and more tutors will help you since Etrata wants to sling combat damage and go back into the deck.

For haste I would add in one or two more things like Chariot of Victory.

For tutors, I would suggest a Tunnel Vision to use on yourself. Long-Term Plans, Parallel Thoughts, and Distant Memories. Also cards like Flash of Insight or Prosperity seem useful for trying to dig through your deck.

+1 good luck with deck building

Cloudius I am aware of what colors Are available to you.

Looking at only equipment, there are 12 other than LG. 6 of which have oddCMC. My favorites include: Sword of Vengeance Swiftfoot Boots Assault Suit Chariot of Victory Helm of Kaldra Helm of the Host Go here for full list: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&text=+[haste]+![suspend]&color=+![R]+![G]&type=+![%22Creature%22]&subtype=+[%22Equipment%22] Think nothing of it.

In addition to equipment, there are more options. If one is clever. I shall list my favorites for you: Akroma's Memorial HotBL Vedalken Orrery Leyline of Anticipation Winding Canyons

That equals to 11 options. And there are more. If one is clever.
