Thank you YourNeighborhoodGhost, I appreciate it. Also, that's a solid rec, I completely forgot about Pitiless Carnage. I've had this copy of Reprocess sitting in my binders for a while, waiting for the right deck, but I guess it's going right back to its binder sleeve.

There's also God-Eternal Bontu if you'd like the same effect on a creature.
I definitely think this commander is interesting but I like the ship one more for some reason. Dunno if I'll actually build it, though.

You're def on the right track KBK7101, since God-Eternal Bontu was included in the stock precon list (along with Korvold, Fae-Cursed King and The Gitrog Monster).
Bontu is solid for sure. I've used it in a couple of Aristocrats decks before. I'll reconsider it as I play-test more, especially if I feel like I need another pseudo-evasive beater.
I want to put this deck together in paper, but am weighing my options on picking up the last 7 cards I don't currently own:
I'm considering which proxy service is fastest, or maybe picking up a couple of the cards listed here, and swapping the other slots for cards I already own in the next accordion block:
-
Scythecat Cub - Given the price tag, this is the one I'd most likely proxy.
-
Sphere Grid - Def a priority pick up from this batch for the keyword anthem & counters synergy.
-
Icetill Explorer - Also another priority pick up from this batch.
-
Ouroboroid - This feels like it could probably get swapped for Uncivil Unrest, esp for similar prices.
-
Pitiless Carnage - I already have Bontu and Reprocess in my collection.
These are all prime candidates for swaps, until I figure out how and which of the others to pick up:
-
Malakir Rebirth Flip - MDFC upside
-
Druid of Purification - No synergy beyond having more removal.
Other candidates for consideration:

As I mentioned before the deck looks pretty good as it sits. Being it’s a lands deck and having a commander that lets you play lands from the yard I do think you need to be running at least a few more extra lands per turn cards. Just gonna list the possible adds to test out. Not suggesting to use them all…unless you really want to. I run them all in every landstorm deck I build.
- Hugs, Grisly Guardian
- Loot, Exuberant Explorer
- Mina and Denn, Wildborn
- Wayward Swordtooth
- Zell Dincht
- Case of the Locked Hothouse
- Druid Class
- Rites of Flourishing
- Exploration Broodship
- Storm Cauldron is really sick in a lands deck. Especially if you run all the xtra lands per turn cards because having to return lands to your hand to play them again in a lands deck is what you want. Plus it slows opponents down since most opponents won’t be able to play more than two lands per.
Some recursion ideas that are also good lands matter cards are:
Could possibly use some more sac outlets for your lands:
- Constant Mists for protection
- Zuran Orb for life gain
- Spitting Spider to take care of flyers
- Need for Speed to give you army haste
- Keldon Arsonist to get rid of opponents annoying lands.
- Glacial Chasm Don’t ever pay the upkeep. Sacs itself and just play it from the yard every turn during your second main so you can still attack.
Possible landfall additions that could benefit the deck:
- Geode Rager for protection.
- Caustic Crawler for creature removal.
- Evolution Sage since you have a +1/+1 counter theme as well.
- Springheart Nantuko to make copies of whatever creatures of yours you want
Doubling landfall triggers:
These are all cards that could add to and enhance your game plan. Pick and choose as you see fit :)

Thank you for the suggestions KayneMarco, I appreciate you taking the time to list some solid suggestions. I will note that I am already running some of the stuff you suggested (Zuran Orb, Need for Speed, and Constant Mists).
As I mentioned in a previous comment, I'm being pretty picky with my 5 cmc slot as casting competition with Szarel.
Of the other suggestions you mentioned, I could see a few of the following as potential swaps:
-
Rites of Flourishing could possibly replace Horn of Greed as a 1:1 CMC swap & some extra land drops.
-
Storm Cauldron is fun, I totally missed that one. I could see this replacing maybe Price of Glory for an adjacent effect.
-
Idk a swap for either, but I do have copies of Springheart Nantuko and Evolution Sage in my collection. I might have a Geode Rager as well.
Are there any potential cuts you could suggest, or maybe stuff you've personally been iffy on from your own play experience?

Another great synergy for a lands deck is Abundance + Sylvan Library. With both in play you can get 3 lands or non lands per turn without having to pay life to the library since abundance is a replacement effect for the library.

Solid deck list you got! For how much Szarels abilities are up my alley, it sucks they added non token as a restriction (Just to imagine the stack of counter triggers Devastating Onslaught couldve accumulated targeting Szarel without the restriction).
Just like with the frog, Invigorate could be a free way to rake 4 more counters per sacrifice. And whenever Golgari power matters is involved I really like having Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord - or my personal favorite Reyhan, Last of the Abzan *f-etch* (which does work with onslaught). Jarad can even heel your plan from the grave!

Thank you for checking out the deck and for the suggestions AkaAkuma. Lol yeah, Szarel would have been closer to Korvold territory if he didn't have the non-token clause. Szarel feels like if Korvold was a bit more generous and restrained with how he shares his power. Devastating Onslaught would have been silly.
The tricky thing is figuring out cuts for suggestions. I had considered Mazirek as a potential cut in the past, but opted to keep it since I play against Aristocrats, or strats that use Treasures and Food often enough. I could see Mazirek being a potential swap with Jarad. Reyhan could be a possible swap with Evolution Sage since it feels a bit more situational compared to some of the other 3 drops. Invigorate is a cool combat trick with decent upside here.

Any deck with Squandered Resources in it is a great deck in my book.
Infernal Tribute funky mana cost but the ability was made for Szarel trigger.
Dust Bowl for the late game.

Difficult to say what to cut, you already have a synergetic deck, mazirek does is nice to have, especially if you can also make something like treasures from Bootleggers' Stash.
Ouroboroid or Mossborn Hydra don't do much for your main plan, but if you can get counters on them by Szarel I do see their strengths.
On the other hand I personally always end up cutting Vigor, it's a steep 6 mana for something situational unless you have something like chandras ingnition on hand. A wipe like Living Death could give the same result though, Szarels ability can only resolve after living death put new creatures on board to target. Sac everything with greater good prior to living death and your set.

Thank you SufferFromEDHD, I appreciate it. I was fortunate to pick up a Squandered Resources last January for $14. I hadn't realized how much it spiked in price with the recent EOE precon's popularity. I don't think I have seen Infernal Tribute before, but I'll def keep it in mind. Dust Bowl could be a solid add, but would likely have to replace either a basic or a tapped land. Diabolic Intent is also solid, I have a copy or two on hand.
I hadn't really considered Bootleggers' Stash for this deck AkaAkuma (honestly kinda forgot it existed). Yeah Ouroboroid and Mossborn Hydra are both kinda boom or bust, but are a lot of fun when they do pop off. I do like that Mossborn already has baked in Trample, so turns with extra land drops and recursion can ensure that it's erasing somebody. Ouroboroid is mostly for the go-wide, and is more so a finisher than a value piece.
I can def see the case for something like Living Death. The addition of Vigor was something along the lines of, "I have a copy in my binders, and Idk what other deck I'd realistically play this in". Also, I figured the wonky mana cost would be a bit more manageable since Green is the overwhelmingly dominant color of the deck.

Do you think counter lords like Battlefront Krushok, Hagra Constrictor, Oona's Blackguard, Bramblewood Paragon, Mer-Ek Nightblade have a place in the strategy or are you trying to avoid cards that depend on your Commander being out?

I try to run a handful of keyword anthems, generally speaking, in each of my aggro decks SufferFromEDHD. I think your suggestions are pretty on point. For this deck, I tried to brew it so that the most likely aggro threats already have some kind of evasive keyword already baked in, if possible.
Similar to your suggestions, I've really liked Red XIII, Proud Warrior as a Vigilance and Trample anthem, especially with how rare Vigilance is in these colors and to help a weakness to Go Wide strats. I think of the ones you suggested, I'd most likely include Bramblewood Paragon, Hagra Constrictor, or the Nightblade. I play against reanimator/aristocrats often enough that Ooona's Blackguard discard wouldn't affect them much.

Why is vigilance in Gruul?! Very rare indeed. I'm so out of the loop. WOTC keeps sneaking utility by me.
My bad. I missed Kodama of the West Tree first time around. The other 2 you chose are all on curve and make for an extra aggressive board state. The only cut I can find in your creatures is Scute Swarm. This is not a token deck. Chew on it.

Lol yeah, I def did a double take with Red XIII when I first saw him. I started brewing him as a commander when the Final Fantasy set was fully debuted, but I don't remember why I shelved it. Kodama of the West Tree is really solid, I've used it in one of the last Aura/Enchantress decks I played last year.
I can def see the case for cutting Scute Swarm. I like it more for having chump blocks against decks that go wider, more than as an actual token swarmer in this deck. I'll try that out as a cut for one of the keyword lords from my last comment. Chewing and tasting.

nice deck mate, you can run Pitiless Carnage instead of Reprocess
