also, if omnath is getting removed or never getting a chance to attack you may want to think about Swiftfoot Boots, Lightning Greaves

Love the deck. I play a fast green ramp deck myself in commander. I would highly suggest Praetor's Council, The Great Aurora, Akroma's Memorial, and Genesis Wave. Praetor's Council is great recovery from sweepers and it's max hand size that an never be taken away, The Great Aurora is a sweeper that in a green deck almost ALWAYS favors you, and Genesis Wave is fun to finish games, especially if you hit an Akroma's Memorial then all your creatures get haste, first strike, vigilance, and pro black and red. Oh and if you leave up 8+ mana after a genesis wave for praetor's council all the non permanents go into your hand.

OH I almost forgot. Vedalken Orrery would let you cast non-land cards at instant speed, and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx would generate a TON of mana in this deck

Thanks for the suggestions! This is my favorite commander type to play. I have actually considered all of those believe it or not! It is just a matter of how cheaply I can get the cards and what to trade out for them.

+1 Nice list...very different from mine. I think Boundless Realms is a definite upgrade over Nissa's Renewal. You almost might want to consider some mana doublers to really pump out some creatures, especially Zendikar Resurgent for the card draw.

Thunderfoot Baloth would make an incredible impact on this deck, gives omnath trample!

I think you are right about the upgrade and the extra card draw. I will look into putting them into the deck!

I will consider Baloth as well although when I get Omnath out, he tends to die quickly to removal if I get him to ramped up.

if omnath is dying you might consider a diffrent commander, mabye Yisan, the Wanderer Bard?

Im just going to do a braindump of cards I think you might be interested in.

I would recommend you add some mana doublers. Cards like Vernal Bloom, Caged Sun, Doubling Cube, Selvala, Heart of the Wilds (If you have omnath in play), also consider the more expensive Gauntlet of Power, Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, Seedborn Muse, and Mana Reflection.

Some more ramp cards like Nissa's Pilgrimage, Skyshroud Claim, Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, Explosive Vegetation.

Some more mana utility like Arbor Elf (works better than Elvish Mystic or Llanowar Elves with mana doublers), Boundless Realms is a great card for mid to late game, and One with Nature (very good ramp early game).

Untapping lands with cards like Bear Umbra or Nature's Will

Some good lands to go in this deck are Rogue's Passage and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx.

Garruk, Primal Hunter (can be used just to draw for the power of Omnath in a pinch), Garruk Wildspeaker also works well with mana doublers.

I would also recommend adding the Pathbreaker Ibex from the Maybeboard if you add these mana doublers because with a powerful Omnath, it's a game winner.

If you're really worried about fliers try Squall Line. If you have enough mana it can be a win condition by itself. Especially with your Elderscale Wurm to prevent you from dying. Another useful card is Canopy Cover, it gives Omanth both hexproof and flying

This deck has introduced me to some very interesting cards. I might be incorporating some into my own Omnath deck. Thanks :)

Wow you have given me some great suggestions! I am definitely going to look to put several of these into this deck, if I can get them for a good price. Birthday is coming up, and many of these cards on my list ;)

Thanks for the help! I will go check out your Omnath deck too!

Whirlwind Tends to work better for flyers, but Squall Line and its ilk can be game finishers, they just require that you have more life than your opponent.

There's also creatures like Arashi, the Sky Asunder and Tornado Elemental. Silklash Spider is already in the deck, and I LOVE that card.

Thanks for the comments! I do prefer Whirlwind over Squall Line, simply because it doesn't hurt my life. I do have Elderscale Wurm, but it seems like a bad idea to rely solely on that card to play Squall Line. What do you think?

I also like Arashi and Tornado Elemental, I just need to acquire them! Several of my friends play angel or demon decks which of course have tons of flying.

Hey! I love mono-green like none other, and I think you should take a look at my Nissa's Lands. I see a lot of similar ideas that could go a LONG way with a little refinement! You have my +1

Thanks for the +1!

And mono-green is what I started Magic on and it will always be my first love lol. I will take a few suggestions from your deck!

November 22, 2016 10:01 a.m.

Awesome! Glad to hear it! The biggest piece of advice I can give any mono-green, aggro, beat face deck is to simplify the land base, and be able to reliably get them out of the deck. Swap out Fertile Thicket, Reliquary Tower, and Temple of the False God for basic lands, then add a decent chunk of land ramp (especially Boundless Realms). What that does, is thin your deck out so that you're almost always drawing your big creatures or your utility, and you can always afford to cast all your things, because all of your lands are on the battlefield, and you have a highly potent library of cards to draw from.

From there, you can start to refine your non-land cards to further increase the usefulness of your thinned out deck. Also, cards like Oracle of Mul Daya and Courser of Kruphix let you play lands from the top of your library, so you're not drawing those either. They help push past land pockets. Especially if you have a large number of land drops per turn.

Yeah I had Fertile Thicket and Temple of the False God in the deck if there were times when I was having a tough time drawing land, and Reliquary Tower is kind of in line with thought too. I have Abundance in my sideboard because if the first game comes out with unfavorable land (either too much or too little) that card can help change things.

I suppose also that Boundless Realms is strictly better than Nissa's Renewal too...I will look into getting it!

I would get Oracle but it is too expensive for me at the moment, but I think I might have Courser so I will look into putting her in. Into the Wilds also acts like a Courser in this deck.

I love Into the Wilds. I just wish it was one less. Still good in EDH though.

November 23, 2016 10:45 a.m.

StumpyIB says... #19

Yeah me too! It is going to go in any green commander deck I have. It fits so well with a landfall deck too because the land you reveal doesn't count for your land for that turn so you can potentially put two down that turn.

November 23, 2016 12:03 p.m.

I probably wouldn't worry about Tornado Elemental or Ulvenwald Observer Garruk's Packleader would put more work in and not force you to draw. The "may" is always nice. Sandsteppe Mastodon can probably go for something. I'd put one of the global tramples in over Sword of Kaldra. Plummet doesn't seem as useful as some of your options, and you've got a decent number of other things to protect against flying, so maybe that. Rampaging Baloths's spot might also be better used for a global trample, but I've never run him, so I don't know. I've never thought Joraga Treespeaker did enough for what it does (unless in a strict elf deck of course). If Outland Colossus had trample stapled, I wouldn't suggest him, but he doesn't, so he might be another option for more global trample. same goes with is Seed Guardian's token also had reach.

Those are my thoughts. Hope they help! :)

I do want to keep most of the reach creatures I have in this deck. I initially had Packleader in this deck but traded him out for you Soul of the Harvest. I think I am mostly considering putting in Stonehoof Chieftain, Thunderfoot Baloth, and maybe Yeva, Nature's Herald.

I keep Seed Guardian in for TappedOut's sake. My casual group has allowed our Commander decks to have one Banned card which for me is Sylvan Primordial. Seed Guardian is my place holder for him to keep the deck legal.

November 30, 2016 6 p.m.

That's awesome. I wish I could run a banned card XD I agree with those three cards, but I'd also suggest a Vedalken Orrery for more flash stuff.

Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger is on the way for Christmas! What should I trade out for him??

December 26, 2016 8:14 p.m.

Optimator says... #24

Hornet Queen or Sandsteppe Mastodon I'd say. Both good cards but they're the weakest near Vorinclex's CMC.

December 26, 2016 8:26 p.m.

StumpyIB says... #25

I think of the two I would take out Mastoddon just because most of the time he bolsters my Elvish Mystic or something like that. Thanks for the suggestion!
