Perhaps I've spent a dime too much on a treasure trove, a morsel too many on a foisted feast, a moment too few on life's lovely clues. I crawl and climb, straining too reach the clouds. If I'm on a mount, I can be above the feathers. The bird soars with monument's wings. Unmoving, unbroken, sturdy in the wind, legacy of the skies. Perhaps I need not flap twice but once, to stay aloft, for belly full, for timely joy.
