Went 3-1 this past Monday against some pretty good decks.
Match 1 (2-1): Red artifact & goblin aggro burn. It hit heavy fast and hard but couldn't hold up when I started gaining life. I dropped a Anger of the Gods game 2 and gained 21 life after wiping 5 of his creatures and 2 of mine, including Soulfire. It wasn't a bad deck by any means.
Match 2 (2-1): Lantern Control. My first time playing this deck and it was nasty! Game 1 I outran him and he had a bad draw. Game 2 he maximized his milling while allowing me to draw only lands. I likely won game 3 because he got greedy with his milling and milled some of my lands, which allowed me to draw 1 too many burn spells. I ended the game with about 5 or 6 cards left in my library after dealing exactly 13 damage with the spells I was able to accumulate over a very slow game. Wear / Tear saved the game for me due to his Sun Droplet.
Match 3 (1-2): My first encounter with Reanimator was enlightening. First game I scooped after a turn 3 Emrakul hit the board swinging. Game 2 he went to turn 4 or 5 before playing anything of significance. Luckily I saved mana for Deflecting Palm and killed him with it when Griselbrand finally made an appearance. Game 3 he destroyed me on turn 2 with a perfect hand, swinging 3 times with Griselbrand.
Match 4 (2-1): Splinter Twin. Long story short, I was able to squeak enough damage by to get the job done. The game he won, he countered pretty much everything I had and was able to get enough damage through to kill me with Snapcasters.
Placed 4th out of 20.
Looking to implement Rest in Peace for some graveyard hate.

Might be a good strategy after Oath of the Gatewatch.

What an interesting year in the multiverse. My own experiences aside, We've gotten a lot to play with. Khans is my favorite set to date. And now, with the new sets, we've moved back to my home plane, with a return visit to Innistrad planned. We're finally in a position to see new vampires that are actually good printed. Drana has not disappointed, and... damn it all Kalitas, you were so close to being broken. Here's looking to the future, for new support in Shadows over Innistrad, and to it being dark and ominous sunset with my new vastly expanded collection and toolbox. Because a bright future marked by a glorious sunrise simply doesn't suit me at all. Come my brethren, let this night never end.

God, Armour, and Draw.
Doci, 9 years ago
Done some modifiations to the deck just now getting around to updating it to tappout.
I have added Lightning Greaves,Spawning Grounds, Tower of Fortunes, Seer's Sundial, Nylea, God of the Hunt.
I am finding late game I am in need of card draw to keep up the pressure on my opponents.

Few tweaks
WalbenQuakeblade, 9 years ago
OUT-
IN-
Decided to remove the token generators from the decks as they have seemed really bland in my personal opinion. Every time I've had them they are just producing some guys to swing with that I dont really need as I usually win with general damage.
I opted to bring in a few more mana accelerates to increase my chances of bringing Narset out a turn or two sooner so I can combo off faster.

I like what BUG has to offer, but I'm considering going just B/U. I've tested that version and it seems more consistent.

Rules in my Meta
Mojimbo, 9 years ago
So my group, in an effort to try to keep games from lasting 4+ hours, has decided to change our rules around a bit. We are allowing infinite combos again, but disallowing tutors. It's probably a temporary change, but I changed my deck to reflect these rule changes. I have reinserted Eater of the Dead and removed the few tutors I had in the deck. So as a result, if you're building at home, you may want to include things like Vampiric Tutor and Planar Portal, etc. Thanks for checking out my deck and I appreciate any help you can give!

Land Base and Discussion

I made some edits to the land base, and I will be swapping Lumbering Falls for the new Hissing Quagmire. I'm also resetting the comments, as it's getting a bit cluttered.

Small improvements
Sc1zX, 9 years ago
Thanks to all the suggestions and discussions I've made a few small tweaks.
I've replaced Graveborn Muse with Kozilek, Butcher of Truth. I'm very unsure about Muse in the deck. On one hand it synergizes with Grave Titan and draws me cards. On the other hand it's a terrible topdeck, weak body and I feel like burst draw is often better. Kozilek ups the curve a little bit but is also a new win-con. It hurts that he removes my graveyard if he gets killed, but the 4 cards that I draw from him should negate that.
I've replaced one swamp with Sign in Blood. Although Night's Whisper is arguably better, the foils are hard to find and I've got a full art for Sign in Blood. Besides that, the difference in operating is minimal and I maily just want to test to see how I like the card or if I should put a swamp back in.
Last change is the removal of Magus of the Coffers for Basalt Monolith. Basalt goes infinite with Rings of Birhgthearth and is a nice tool to ramp into Ulamog or Kozilek.
If you have any suggestions or experience regarding these cards, let me know! Currently testing the deck weekly at a new LGS, so I should get lots of useful playtesting done.

modern play

The deck isn't quite modern legal if you take out the dragonspeaker shamans and the crimson hellkite it becomes totally legal.
The Big Change
CrimsonKing63, 9 years ago
So after almost a year of Tajic cutting foes down I have to mix things up a bit to keep my meta off it's toes. Double strike is amazing and I find most games for people to be in actual danger from a single beater on my field. Anger and Glory are the best, also Staff of Nin if it isn't blown up immediately does its job.
