This deck basically was just thrown together pretty quickly although It does have some very good synergy. Many instants and sorceries may not seem like the best idea, but it basically makes this deck izzet control where you can make huge plays with many instants and sorceries in a single turn.

The main reason for having so many X Mana spells is that as the game continues, to trigger Mizzix ability, the costs need to ramp, so that you can play the X cards for lots of mana and therefore lots of damage.
