Hey there friends!! This is another deck from my series of exploring a Theme/Gimmick and making a deck out of it. This time around I wanted to explore the idea of the lore itself of a specific card/person. So instead of doing a silly theme or tribal this time around, I researched the story and tried making a deck to match while still making it a little fun to play. Enjoy! Chapter 3: Liliana's Story

Welcome Travellers, have you ever heard the tale of Liliana the planeswalker? Behold, her story, put to play. We begin in Dominaria where our commander began as Liliana, Heretical Healer  . Desperate to heal her beloved brother, she gave him a Tainted Remedy which ultimately took his life. Obsessed over her loss, she swore she would bring him back. Thus, becoming the necromancer we know of today. Consumed by her thirst, Liliana scoured the world willing to trade away anything for more power. Ultimately, she struck a deal with four great demons Kothophed, Soul Hoarder, Griselbrand, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, and Demonlord Belzenlok. She received more power than she could imagine, but at great cost. She was enslaved to these four demons, and ultimately, Nicol Bolas himself. Desperate for freedom, Liliana sought The Chain Veil to hunt and kill her tormentors, the four demons. Thus, she became Liliana Vess and Liliana of the Dark Realms.

Once she succeeded in destroying her demons, she realized the chain veil was corrupting her, killing her. She abandoned the veil and ultimately realized she would never be free until Nicol Bolas relinquished his control and was stopped. Biding her time, she left Innistrad and travelled to Amonkhet where she could rest and regain strength. She became Liliana, Dreadhorde General and used her necromancy to build an army worthy of Bolas. When the time came, she stood up to Bolas during the great battle in Amonkhet's plane. Thanks to Gideons sacrifice, she survived, and Liliana, the Last Hope gave Bolas his Finale of Eternity forever sealing the Elder Dragon into oblivion. Exhausted, Liliana wanted to be free from her past. She "died" in Amonkhet but escaped to Arcavios where she donned a new identity as a professor in the famed Strixhaven academy. But will she ever be free from her past? The Professor's Warning still shows her glimpses of pain and sorrow. The Veil taunting her, calling out to her. Will she be able to deal with her choices? The sins of her past?

What you just read above was my best summation of Liliana's lore. I tried including cards within this deck to kind of tell her story. This deck isn't really meant to be a competitive deck. I wanted to see if I could make a commander that contained all the lore of a specific person or event. I think Liliana worked out pretty well. So, every card in this deck, save for lands, will be cards that either include Liliana in the art, text, name, or are within the planes that she visited. I kept most of my creatures to theme, and most of the zombies are from the Innistrad plane. But every card should have her name, text, or likeness on the card and will only be from planes that she has been too. Obviously not every card of Liliana's can fit into this deck, so I did have to pick and choose certain cards. Also, I wanted to have some "fun" cards thrown in there too. That way it isn't all together boring for you.

Enjoy guys! Hope you like this weird story telling deck. I think it was fun to research and I look forward to seeing how the deck actually plays out. Let me know what you think!
