My first Modern deck!

I splash green for Destructive Revelry and I'm considering Atarka's Command.

On October, 7th 2015 Atarka's Command hit 60 Euro/playset.I think I'll wait for it to come back down around 20 Euro/playset before buying (rotation 2016?).

Yesterday I played Modern. I still need to buy Vexing Devils. I went 1-2-1. Meh.

Match 1: Affinity 0-2

I got beaten up, harshly.

Game 1 was: turn 1 Vault Skierge, turn 2 Ensoul Artifact, the opponent gains 5, I lose 5. 3 attacks and I lost, I had no answers.

Side in Destructive Revelry and Volcanic Fallout (he plays counterspells).

Game 2 was a bit better, but I lost again to Ensoul Artifact on his Ornithopter (destroyed by Destructive Revelry) and a second Ensoul Artifact on a Mox Opal while I was tapped.

Match 2: BW Tokens 1-1

Bad matchup, Token plays lots of lifegain (in the form of Timely Reinforcements, Auriok Champion, ...). I quickly won Game 1: Goblin Guide, Monastery Swiftspear, I killed his Auriok Champion on turn 3 because he blocked and I responded with Skullcrack. He also had a bad hand.

Side in: 2 Blood Moon, 2 Destructive Revelry against his Intangible Virtue, 2 Volcanic Fallout to keep the board clear of his tokens.

Game 2: Bad hand, mulligan twice, decent hand. He opens with Swamp, Inquisition of Kozilek, messing up my hand. I never recovered. By turn 6 he had Auriok Champion and at least 7 tokens. Blood Moon was a bad choice, he had all the basic lands he needed by turn 3, so my turn 3 Blood Moon was useless.

Game 3: Few minutes remaining, we don't get to turn 4. It's draw.

Match 3: Grixis Delver 2-0

Good Matchup. Good hands.

I quickly won both games. His Delver of Secrets are a pain in the a*s, but thanks to my Goblin Guide I know exactly when they flip.

Match 4: BW Tokens 1-2

Another player with tokens. Another bad matchup.

Game 1: Good hand, with Skullcrack, Guide, Monastery and a couple of 1mana 3 damage spells. I even get to deny his token+Sorin, Solemn Visitor +1 with a Skullcrack when he blocked. I end the game with the most satisfying Lightning Bolt of my life.

Game 2: He opens with Fetch+Godless Shrine+Inquisition of Kozilek, revealing a 1land hand, a bunch of 1mana spells and discarding Skullcrack (the main reason I kept that hand). He plays Liliana of the Veil on turn 3 and Sorin on turn 4, followed by some tokens. Lost.

Game 3: This game starts like the previous and ends similarly, without Sorin, but with Liliana that kills a bunch of creatures and forces me to discard a lot.

I end up 6th. GG
