Diviner's Portent

Instant

Roll a twenty sided die and add the number of cards in your hand to that roll. (Remember that MTG spindowns are not well weight balanced, so please roll a die that isn't an MTG spindown.)

If you roll 1-14 | Draw X cards.
If you roll 15+ | Scry X, then draw X cards.

Welcome to both Commander and the Genestealers! I have a deck very similar to this, since the Tyranid precon is perfectly fine out of the box. On a budget, the land base is definitely top priority; I see you're not running any guild signets (Izzet, Simic, Gruul) which on top of ramp can also fix your colors depending on what color balance you end up having. On that topic, with a budget manabase, you may have to part ways with some of the more color intensive spells, as they might get stuck in your hand, and your general only produces colorless. Tribute to the World Tree, Diviner's Portent, etc. having three of the same symbol can be rough on a budget manabase. Fathom Mage is a pretty good draw engine, and you could replace a big burst draw spell with a small burst spell like Quick Study which is better early game and perfectly fine later. I also like Abundance which was in the precon. Shigeki, Jukai Visionary is a card I'm happy to draw every time I see him; he blocks, he ramps, he regrowths, he slices, he dices!

If you're looking for cuts for other cards, two that jumped out that I cut from mine are Bone Sabres and Hierophant Bio-Titan. They're alright if you're already winning, but often I'd rather have anything else than one more big creature.

If you didn't wanna run any of the infinites Seedborn Muse would still be incredibly powerful with any of the instant speed draw spells (Blue Sun's Zenith / Commander's Insight / Diviner's Portent / Drown in Dreams / Even the Score / Pull from Tomorrow / Stroke of Genius). Could easily draw the whole deck for a Thassa's Oracle / Laboratory Maniac / Jace, Wielder of Mysteries win.

Also pairs really well with all the X cost counterspells Condescend / Syncopate / Power Sink / Logic Knot / Clash of Wills.

Just some more food for thought.

This commander is bonkers. Looking forward to building around her myself.

Doesn't look like you're going for the spell slinger route, but Seedborn Muse with any of the instant speed draw spells (Blue Sun's Zenith / Commander's Insight / Diviner's Portent / Drown in Dreams / Even the Score / Pull from Tomorrow / Stroke of Genius / Thassa's Intervention) would be really good here. Could easily draw the whole deck for a Thassa's Oracle / Laboratory Maniac / Jace, Wielder of Mysteries win.

Since you're going the creature based route Kindred Discovery / Herald of Secret Streams / Open Into Wonder.

Some other generic good stuff for a deck like this Nyxbloom Ancient / Selvala, Heart of the Wilds / Mana Reflection / Pest Infestation.

+1 because the name is catchy. Also, you may want to add more hubs to this so more eyes can get on it.

Also, Preordain, Hakka, Whispering Raven, Cavalier of Gales, Diviner's Portent, Faerie Seer, Hedron Alignment, Mazemind Tome, Marit Lage's Slumber (swapping to Snow-Covered Island of course), Retreat to Coralhelm, Silver Raven, Thassa, God of the Sea, and Treasure Map  Flip would be good additions.

I never realized how much support a scry commander could have - If they ever add cards that create material; creatures, treasures, clues, ect. I can see this being a powerhouse in those mid-optimized games.

timelord I'd consider Diviner's Portent to work more like a better version of Blue Sun's Zenith in this deck. Since Grazilaxx, Illithid Scholar allows you to have such a massive hand size, I found it really doesn't matter what you roll on the d20 (the cards you have in hand + the number you roll is usually higher than 15. In my Grazilaxx deck (Grazilaxx, Card-Draw Fiend) Diviner's Portent works as Scry X, Draw X

Always great to see a fellow scholar! Allow me to recommend some cards that have really performed well for me, Toothy, Imaginary Friend is a great card that pairs really well with Grazilaxx, Illithid Scholar that you can bounce or grow with your card draw. I'd also recommend Teferi's Ageless Insight and Diviner's Portent as well.
