I made it so that I can make more room for removal. Only one Iona, Shield of Emeria and two Elspeth, Sun's Champion

Prophet of Kruphix + Arcanis the Omnipotent = draw and cast three cards during every player's turn at instant speed Prophex of Kruphix + Cloudstone Curio = activate your enter-the-battlefield effects forever while maintaining the maximum possible hand size for Overbeing of Myth Prophex of Kruphix + Cloudstone Curio = Flash your creatures into play in response to your opponent's removal spells and bounce their designated target Nevermaker + Cloudstone Curio = stack the same land on top of your opponent's deck for the rest of the game, along with any other permanents on the field that you want buried on the top of their deck Note: if you have multiple copies of Prophet of Kruphix on the field, then you can stack both the triggers for their effects, untap all of your lands using the first trigger and tap them all to Flash and Cloudstone Curio as many creatures as your mana allows before the second Prophet's effect resolves and you untap your lands again. Kiora's Follower could be a useful card for the deck, since he can untap lands when you're attempting to ramp and Arcanis the Omnipotent when you just want to draw your entire deck.

- smash +vandalblast Sufficient to say one sideded board wipes are really strong. Looking for a slot for quicksilver gargantuan because it seems fun.

kyle_vanerp, 11 years ago

A lot of rearranging happened. I finally received and order placed at TCG. I've decided to move my Obzedat, Ghost Council back to the deck. This is currently all the cards I have.

I plan on making one more change to it. I'm going to get rid of the Cancel and place Syncopate in it's place.

Got tired of the staticaster-gorgon head combo so took it out. I want to experiment with Prognostic Sphinx a little as a finisher. Therefore i took the AEtherling to the sideboard. also reintroduced Guttersnipe. I dont really like him, but with all the spells I am running his effect can't be denied

seemed a better choice for global effects rather than putting all my eggs in one basket.

FNM

dinox222, 11 years ago

I went to a FNM a few weeks ago and came in 10th. Total of 24 other players where there. Beat anyone that was not a control deck. All the control decks I did play I went 1-2 and have them a good run for their money. End up winning 2 and losing 2.

Monday Night Magic: Debut

Atlashine, 11 years ago

I went to try out my new deck and was surprised by its results. The turn out yielded a lot more Burn decks than the Control and Devotion I was expecting, but I stayed true to my principles and the results went as follow:

Round One: Izzet Something (2-0): I couldn't quite put my finger on what he was trying to do. The first game he mulliganed... three times, starting off with four cards on the play. All he really did was Lightning Strike me which inspired me to board out some creature burns in the form of Searing Blood for creatures like Firedrinker Satyr. Second game he surprised me with his Goblin Electromancers, but they didn't do much considering I forgot to also board out my Chained to the Rocks.

Round Two: Boros Beatdown (2-1): I lost high roll which put me on the spot game one against an equally aggressive deck. Though he sported the same colors, he dedicated his strategy to permanents opposed to my Instants. I managed to nab game one barely. Game two he came out swinging and sent out a Stormbreath Dragon before I could calculate up some damage. Game two he released his Stormbreath Dragon again, but with a more potent hand, I was able to creatively burn out his offence and carry away a decisive win.

Round Three: Golgari (2-0): Another round where I was somewhat confused on his goal. He sent out a Lotleth Troll game one that didn't do too much and ultimately just got burned out after he killed what few creatures I played. Second match he stacked up some more damage on me, but Warleader's Helix did a great job keeping me healthy enough to just worry about burning him out.

Round Four: Draw (0-0): It was my first time in finals and we were both tired from the long night of events. The host was kind enough to add another pack to the prize pool and we just split five packs each.

Summary: I'd say the real MVP of the night clearly goes to Warleader's Helix. An amazing source of four damage that heals me back four as well. It more than compensates for small monster damage and even trades with larger monsters pretty decent; removing the distraction of depleting health and allowing me to focus on dishing out more burns. Overall I really enjoyed this deck and plan on using it more as Standard progresses.

Removed the Gilder Bairn + Ral Zarek combo, in favor of speeding up with my tokens and making them more powerful with Coat of Arms and Goblin Chieftain. The Ral combo wasn't coming out enough, and Gilder Bairn resulted in too many dead draws.

Current change ideas

Named_Tawyny, 11 years ago

Okay, here's the current thinking. Sub out the two Blessings (they're a great mana-sink, but I don't need things to be huge to be effective) and sub in two Gift of Immortalitys. Then move Karametra, God of Harvests *f-etch* to the sideboard (or out entirely? Any ideas on a good 15th sideboard card?) and take Miss Serra Angel out, to be replaced with two Guardian of the Gatelesses.

The thinking is that with the Gifts, I can either have the Guardian block everything all the time forever, or put one on a Brindle Boar to get 4 life (and Angels) each turn.

Thoughts?

Yup. Doing it. Will let you know how it goes.
