Game 1 Vs Mono Black Devotion: Mono black devotion was able to Thoughtseize my enchantment out of my opening hand, but stalled out because of drawing two consecutive mutavualt. The deck recovered well from multiple thoughtsiezes.
Game 2: The deck lost to a pack rat engine and Gary. It wasn't able to find the white mana needed to get Ajani, Caller of the Pride for the finish.
Game 3: Mono black devotion had trouble grabbing lands again, it did get up to 4 and was able to cast a Desecration Demon, This deck was able to get enough creatures on the field to withstand Devour Flesh and Hero's Downfall.
Overall in this matchup the deck played well. I think in matchups against mono black devotion you have to be aware of Devour Flesh, and make sure you always have two creatures on the field., that way you never have to sac your buffed guy to devour flesh.

Updated the sideboard.
TheGodofNight, 11 years ago
I've updated my sideboard for this deck, and I've cleared the comments. I know I haven't quite nailed down the sideboard yet, but part of it is that I'm trying to address a lot of issues. Currently entertaining removal of the Academy Ruins in favor of the 4th Glimmervoid. I haven't gotten a chance to try it out. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. For all the +1's and helpful advice, I want to express my thanks.

This update is late. Two weeks ago, the deck got third. Not bad. It lost out to a mono-black deck. Game one was a pretty even match but the second game I got trounced. I have to make changes and plan accordingly for the next time I plan to use this.
Goodbye Wishes!
GamersGearInc, 11 years ago
After some evaluation I have decided to take out the Wishes, and remove the wish/sideboard. In - Swan Song In - Dream Halls Out - Burning Wish Out - Cunning Wish

Dropped Green/Blue to worry less about color fixing and improve reliability of certain matchups. Instead, adding white for Enchantment/Artifact exiling and Leyline of Sanctity to stop burn/mill/discard decks.
RIP Grimgrin. :( Not competitive enough for what I'm trying to achieve.

card swaps

I decided that there were too many spells so I swapped a couple out for some more low drop zombies.

Inital playtesting

So i finally had the time to run this Monster through a couple playtests
Played against: an anti-meta deck based on ONLY plainswalkers A simic contorl deck (no kiora) A rakdos midrange
Anti-meta Beat me hard I learned nothing there cept i need to find something to deal with that thing :p
Simic Control I Learned the power of Doom Blade and Far / Away those two literaly saved me mainboarded Mistcutter Hydra so that was my only option to deal with it Also learned that Rapid Hybridization thats goin in the sideboard 3 of for sure... mainbaord maybe but idk what to take out for it
Rakdos midrange Crushed it hard Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver carried 2 out of 5 by stealing Rakdos, Lord of Riots other 3 just controlled field and he couldnt do anything in response
**all in all so far so good ** Thoughtseize got removed as it was simply not enough.

Played it a bit, needed some tweaking

After playing this a couple times, I realized it needed a few tweaks. Did those, and removed the maybeboard, although further tweaks may be required.

Journey into Nyx
DrFunk27, 11 years ago
The spoilers are upon us and I've extremely happy with the B/R God. It has actually altered my Grixis mindset and I've gone to early game control and straight burn to the face. I'm adding Ral Zarek because he gets better now and the tempo of Keranos is amazing. I added more land to enable more draws off Keranos and I won't need as much dedicated draw. Still contemplating putting Divination back in. I'm pretty happy with the changes I've made but would appreciate any opinions.

Replaced 2x Burning Earth and 1x Act of Treason for 3x Searing Blood in order to side in against wennie builds.

Less win conditions

I made it so that I can make more room for removal. Only one Iona, Shield of Emeria and two Elspeth, Sun's Champion

Prophet of Kruphix + Arcanis the Omnipotent = draw and cast three cards during every player's turn at instant speed Prophex of Kruphix + Cloudstone Curio = activate your enter-the-battlefield effects forever while maintaining the maximum possible hand size for Overbeing of Myth Prophex of Kruphix + Cloudstone Curio = Flash your creatures into play in response to your opponent's removal spells and bounce their designated target Nevermaker + Cloudstone Curio = stack the same land on top of your opponent's deck for the rest of the game, along with any other permanents on the field that you want buried on the top of their deck Note: if you have multiple copies of Prophet of Kruphix on the field, then you can stack both the triggers for their effects, untap all of your lands using the first trigger and tap them all to Flash and Cloudstone Curio as many creatures as your mana allows before the second Prophet's effect resolves and you untap your lands again. Kiora's Follower could be a useful card for the deck, since he can untap lands when you're attempting to ramp and Arcanis the Omnipotent when you just want to draw your entire deck.

- smash +vandalblast Sufficient to say one sideded board wipes are really strong. Looking for a slot for quicksilver gargantuan because it seems fun.
