I do have some ideas in mind when it comes to closing out a game with Poison counters. But you don't have to make it through a couple times - all it takes is once and it's the beginning of the end. Some traditional combo pieces would be:
And other spells of that ilk. Another synergy are +1/+1 counters. Forgotten Ancient, Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, Ozolith, the Shattered Spire and The Ozolith are real powerhouses if you wish to go that route. This synergy does telegraph your moves more and you'd be less explosive.
But what to do when the table goes against you? I recommend stax. Tying up the resources of the table, forcing slower and less impactful turns on your opponents while the clock continues ticking. Cards like Astral Cornucopia and Everflowing Chalice help break parity as you will likely have access to more mana than your opponents while they're being held back. Some oldies but goldies would be:
- Winter Orb
- Static Orb
- Ensnaring Bridge (This has good synergy well with the aforementioned pump spells as you can still attack with low power infect creatures)
- Tangle Wire (A personal Fave as you can proliferate these counters)
- Parallax Wave (A personal Fave as you can proliferate these counters)
- Parallax Tide (A personal Fave as you can proliferate these counters)
Playing pretty much any of these cards will likely earn you some ire - but the idea is to only play these when you have poison counters on your opponents and you can reliably proliferate them at least once or twice a turn. The idea is that you've already got your opponents where you want them, all you'd need to do is simply wait while the Poison counters end them.

What's your expected budget for this deck? Marking it as Legacy format isn't necessarily wrong, but it would be a good idea to also add the Budget and/or Casual hub. Legacy decks have a certain expectation of being the kind of high-powered, win-on-turn-3 decks you're trying to avoid, and $1000 would be considered extremely budget.
Outside of that, I would suggest adding some permanent removal. If your Goblin hordes can't get through Ensnaring Bridge, Fog, or other combat-controlling effect, this deck pretty much shuts down. Another option would be something like Goblin Bombardment or Goblin Grenade, turning creatures directly into damage. Burn spells like Lightning Bolt or Skewer the Critics would work, too.

I just saw your comment after posting the last one, but to answer your question, no I don't think manamorphose is needed and would also be detrimental. Your fetchland mana base can easily handle all your mana requirements and now that I've looked at them again you could probably trim a copy of Arena. Try these overall suggestions next and get back to me. Cut: 4 ignoble 4 temur 1 arena Add: +4 shardless agent +3 brazen borrower +2 island.
Another sideboard change I might suggest is cutting the 3x force of vigor and replacing it with 3 Obsidian Charmaw. The reasoning being that you don't have many green cards for pitching and the main artifact/enchantment cards that might harm you the most (such as Solitary Confinement or Ensnaring Bridge) could be stopped with your counters. Charmaw also gives you a way to recast your breaching dragonstorm while being a hate card against eldrazi.

I'm determined to make a deck where this is the engine piece. If anyone out there can read this tell me your favorite combos!
I constantly run Ensnaring Bridge because of my fondness for Null Brooch so this is a clear point of synergy. I'm thinking there are enough Crucible of Worlds effects now to nullify the land sacrifice. Extra mana rocks would help too. If you are running Stifle tempo tech it can also address the end of turn tax. It feeds reanimation and flashback smoothly. There is a small list of commanders where this is an auto include due to the strategy (Muldrotha) or the clear synergy (Damia)
legendofa on Lotus Petal vs. Chrome Mox

Not competitive (especially Legacy), but I'm an 8-Rack enthusiast.
Setting up fast is important. Once you have your Rack lock set up, at least in my experience, you only really need a couple mana each turn, so the mana from that Chrome Mox might be less valuable than the card that got imprinted. Especially with a set of Dark Rituals, it should be easy to set at least one Rack effect and a Hymn to Tourach or Thoughtseize on turn 1 and build with 1-2 mana a turn from there, with a little burst for Liliana of the Veil or Ensnaring Bridge or whatever as needed.
So my vote's for the Lotus Petal. Prioritizing your denial and removal seems more important than a guaranteed extra each turn, but I'd be very interested to see how well it works in practice.

I think you should run more stuff like Lotus Petal or Elvish Spirit Guide, Legacy is an incredibly fast format, and a deck like this needs to be putting a threat on board turn 2 pretty reliably, Lands decks and Reanimator decks can both put similar (or even better in the case of Lands) creatures onto the board on or before turn 2.
To protect vs wipes you could try Heroic Intervention, it's pricey but once you've stuck a threat I feel like you need it to stay alive. Not of this World can help protect your big creature from targeted stuff fwiw, but that's neither wipes or counters!
Have you thought about something like Terastodon to deal with stuff like Ensnaring Bridge? If a Discard deck can stick their Bridge do you have any ways to deal with it? I'm not saying Discard is a prevalent deck, but it can also kill a Dark Depths before they go off with it fwiw. The nice perk of the card is if you blow up lands your opponent will have a hard time casting a wipe, while you might be able to make another large creature!
I feel like I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Once Upon a Time, I'd run it as a x4, having one in your opening hand is really, really good I've found in my elf list (which also uses a lot of mana dorks fwiw). Between Once and the plethora of 1 mana dorks I used I ended up going down to 16 lands, which I was pretty happy with in practice.
If you're TRULY desperate for ways to deal with counter magic you can try Null Brooch, I used it in an aggro list to stop wipes, but if you REALLY want to protect stuff that's already on board it can help. It's a terrible card vs rack decks, but that's why we have sideboards, right?

DreadKhan Thanks a Lot for your Feedback! In Commander and Casual Games, Transmute is my absolute favorite ability to bring my janky combo pieces together haha.
In this case, I fully agree with you that the unbanned tutors are not that great. However, I think Beseech the Mirror could have a place in that Artefakt based deck.
As for the Option to use mass Removals against creature Heavy Decks: I initially decided to play Ensnaring Bridge over mass relovals because I thought it would fit into the overall artefact based approach of that deck and would synergize well with Urza's Saga. Now I have realized that I would restrict myself because an empty hand with a huge construct and the Bridge would be awful for me haha.
Regarding Liliana's Caress and Quest for the Nihil Stone: would it be not better to play Shrieking Affliction instead?

It's hard to suggest a good tutor for your color combination. I really want to suggest to splash white for Enlightened Tutor because it can find anything you need in this deck. But if its not possible for you, I'm thinking of Profane Tutor, Grim Tutor, or Beseech the Queen.
"I'm a bit curious what happens if someone resolves a good creature before you can lock them out of cards"
I think his plan is to land Ensnaring Bridge against Creature based decks.
