What's your favorite land ever, just out of curiosity? Mine, for reasons I've never been able to properly articulate, is Meteor Crater. I just think it's a really cool, different land.
Nimbus Maze. God I wish Wizards would finish that cycle. The art is dope too, especially on foils.

Gaea's Cradle but the Rtr Breeding Pool is super pretty

I came here expecting to see Island's plastered all over the wall....
But my favorite is Isolated Chapel. So pretty.

Buried Ruin. Well, with Life from the Loam or Crucible of Worlds.
Recursion is your friend.
March 7, 2015 3:17 p.m.
Such nice abilities and stats to grant.
Although, Buried Ruin was my first non-basic I used in my ultra-noob days. It was nice to get back Crumbling Colossus.
Ah, nostalgia.

My favorite would have to be the Godless Shrine from Guildpact, just such a cool card ((I know what I linked isn't guildpact, but I don't know how))

kmcree: if the Lorwyn filter lands are any indication, they will finish that cycle eventually. We'll probably see cards like River of Tears and Horizon Canopy in other colors, too.
As for my favorite land, Overgrown Tomb probably has the coolest name and art (RTR version), but Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle is the most badass.
March 7, 2015 3:38 p.m.
Now that I think about it... River of Tears' ability adds another layer of strategy to the game when you combine it with landfall. Maybe we'll see a full "landfall land" cycle in Battle For Zendikar...? Man, I'd love that.

I like Mountain.
I also like Wooded Foothills, because I love snow :)

Polluted Delta - blue and black yo.
Also really like Mutavault

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx Glad I have 2 foils. It's just too bad they aren't worth as much as I was hoping they would be.

I love everything about the RTR Overgrown Tomb. That flavor text is just so great. Second place would have to go to KTK Polluted Delta.

Ancient Tomb, because dying to my own lands is more fun that dying to my opponents. Also I really like all of the snow covered lands from Ice Age

Oh I forgot, Thawing Glaciers before the rewording. So much value out of one card...

Gatecrash's Godless Shrine is the only reason I ever wanted to/did buy a playmat. It's absolutely beautiful IMO.
March 7, 2015 6:28 p.m.
Horizon Canopy. I use it in any modern deck with W or G. It's so good in my 4C dredge build.

The FNM promo Cloudpost is sick. I also like Karakas. Land I'm most obsessed with owning would have to be The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale. Bit of a price tag on that one.

Mine are Karakas, and it's friends, Volcanic Island, Wasteland, Strip Mine, fetches, Minamo, School at Water's Edge, Yavimaya Hollow, Academy Ruins geez, I just like lands. They are my favorite, and always have been.

But in all seriousness, I can not choose between the Karakas, or Volcanic Island. Those are my 2 favorite lands. Their price makes me sometimes want to trade them.
Also kinda surprised no one has said Jace, the Mind Sculptor he is op. lol

I'm surprised no one has said Tolarian Academy. I enjoy the crap out of that card, especially when it was standard legal.

That is a great land. I just don't own one. I picked up my Karakas years ago in the dollar binder at a shop in town. I also got my volcanic island out of a grab bag for a dollar at that store. So while good, they are my favorites for nostalgia reasons mainly. I loved that store.

Years ago I remember getting lucky a few times nothing compared to the luck you have. It seems people have caught on, even pre-orders a year ago you could do pretty well because everyone's focus was on a few other cards now it seems that every pre order card is 5.00 or more and the ones that are blatantly terrible still keep a dollar price tag. Lol. It's getting harder from an investment perspective and I'd hold onto your lands at least til the day you retire from MTG as it will only go up.

When I say years ago, I mean 15/16 years ago, maybe a little more. I think duals were 5-10 bucks, lotus was 250 maybe. Karakas was not all that popular. I had a mono white deck, and really liked it. I think Pendelhaven was the popular one in that cycle back then. I also got a Mox Emerald out of that grab bag box they had once. I sold it a couple days later for 75 dollars. I could not believe someone would pay that for a magic card, little did I know...

That makes two of us lol. Especially the mana base I remember for years and years and years most lands were 10 or less. Mana bases today are just so ridiculously over priced these days, that's just my opinion anyways lol.

Yep, peeps traded duals for Balduvian Horde back in the day lol. I remember when Tolarian Academy and Metalworker was broken. Still kinda is in Vintage alongside Mishra's Workshop and such.

Balduvian Horde is still the beeznees. I remeber using them alongside Hammer of Bogardan, Mogg Fanatic and Ball Lightning. All this talk wants me to rebuild it for casual fun!

I kept my decks from back then. Still have fun playing them. My favorite is to run The old Fungus Among-us. against people's standard decks. I ask them if they have heard of Fallen Empires, and if they have, I pull that out. I have won way too many games with that deck. It works like a turbo fog deck, that waits till it can Overrun
But I digress. I do love me some Meteor Crater. I have run that for years in my old blue deck.

Well back in my day, Wood Elemental was the best creature on the tournament tables, and Mudhole Top 8'ed every major event.

My vote goes for Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Awesome in EDH. Works pretty well in single color devotion decks too.

i've always enjoyed having Alchemist's Refuge out on the field. keeps everyone on their toes
