Kinsbaile Irregulars (Updated 4/8!)

Commander / EDH*

A pretty standard Kithkin Tribal Tokens EDH deck, with Karametra as the general.

My local meta is pretty casual, so I'm not looking to go crazy with the power level. Just have a bunch of cool, flavorful fights with a bunch of Kithkin and a few buddies.

Got a few utility creatures that either fit the theme mechanically or are 'allies'. I like the idea of telling a story with the deck of a crazy, guerilla defense of a Kithkin township.

Karametra, God of Harvests is the general because Gaddock Teeg shuts down EDH games. Instead, Karametra tutors up all the basic lands, stabilizing my mana base, pulling out dead draws, and keeping my hand full of effective cards. Plus, she's a solid beater on her own!

Cloudgoat Ranger , Guardian of Cloverdell , Elder of Laurels , Borderland Ranger, and Champion of Lambholt are totally not Kithkin - but two summon Kithkin tokens and interact with them, the Elder pumps single targets in swarms, and the Champion makes a giant pile of tokens into an unstoppable wave. Besides, something about a small set of non-Kithkin allies there to assist in the defense of the Kithkin appeals to me.

Tokens are kind of the win condition. Kithkin can ping to death, but with Growing Ranks, Parallel Lives, Militia's Pride, and then Cenn's Enlistment , the allies mentioned above, Patrol Signaler , Goldmeadow Lookout , or even Springjack Shepherd and Springjack Pasture will produce tokens aplenty! Then you just need Door of Destinies, Mirror Entity, Intangible Virtue, Crown of Convergence , or even just repeated uses of Cenn's Tactician to make a bunch of tokens totally dangerous.

If you can't assemble something workable out of the pile of tokens, doublers, and pumpers there, the Kithkin themselves are still useful. With Reinforce options (Burrenton Bombardiers, Mosquito Guard ), big swings ( Changeling Titan , Thoughtweft Trio ), and evasion ( Kithkin Zephyrnaut , Plover Knights , or even just Dense Canopy when the other guys' got all flyers), it's still a decent beater deck. I've thrown in Behemoth Sledge and a few other things to keep the deck alive even when the token engins is silent. With only a handful of instant-speed combat tricks, it relies on one good strike rather than needling to death, but it can be done either way, if you're playing the political game well and being nice and quiet.

I'm pretty happy with it so far, but I welcome suggestions on adding flavor. Power's not the big concern, as I mentioned - the deck's pretty solid in multiplayer, and really, that's where this deck belongs. So take a look! Borrow it! The Kithkin army calls to you!
