Surge of Thoughtweft Discussion

ZorrosRage Thanks for advice but running GQ would feel much in same as path of exile Would need of running of Leonin Arbiter . I like the way u can just pop Tectonic in turn 4 and just be over with it opponent of needing to fetch land or needing a land drop. Celestial Colonnade Seemed like a prime target for our Tectonic. We can run at 2-3 mana since we got ways to cheat creatures into play by Aether Vial or Preeminent Captain. As our counterparts win-conditions take more of mana. i dont mind that much about them burning themselves over for mana since it makes our win-condition easier.
Was running 2 Militia's Pride last week at local tournament pretty satisfied with the card usually swinging 4-8 dmg per game of dmg into opponent.
I know card draw is a problem cause we really only have 3 ways to draw additional cards just by cycling Surge of Thoughtweft and also we could already at turn 4-6 be playing with no hand cards. GQ and Flag seems to come as of question do we want to sacrifice a bit of slowing opponent down for safer top decks? Also what if opponent is playing Blood Moon ? With tectonic we don't sacrifice that much of our manabase into mountains even though we got Figure of Destiny where to dump red.
Sorry if i feel like kinda of a bonehead towards suggestions, but im pretty sure that i will get 2-3 teegs and 3 borderguard over for next weeks tournament.

I have a few recommendations for this deck. Firstly, Cenn's Heir, Kinsbaile Borderguard, and Ballyrush Banneret seem like auto includes for Kithkin tribal. Cenn's Enlistment is a little mana intensive, but it gives you bodies of a relevant type, and can be recurred in the late game and turn dead land draws into bodies. Surge of Thoughtweft could be played strictly for flavor if that's something you're interested in.
Additionally, I feel like you don't need as many filler Kithkin like Amrou Kithkin and Kinscaer Harpoonist and could use more tribal staples like Kindred Discovery and Herald’s Horn , as well as a better control package of cards like Beast Within and Pongify.
This looks like a good start and I'm really interested to see where you take it, as I can see it heading towards either an Agro or Control strategy.

I just did a bunch of play testing on xmage with the split of Borderguard and Whiteclay and i rely like it

No, I didn't miss the Spectral Processions. If you think that 20 creatures (all 1/1s and 2/2s, without any additional setup) in your deck is enough to aggro the opponent out, then that's great. Yes, I know what Surge of Thoughtweft does - but like I said, you don't want to cast this without having at least 2 creatures out, and I suppose if the opponent is letting you build a board of weenies without killing them or building their own board of blockers, then that's a game you'd be winning anyway? Or maybe, for greater clarity, you can describe a typical scenario where Surge of Thoughtweft wins you games?
Thinning a mono-colour deck with fetches has been shown to matter less than the life points lost by people other than myself, so I defer to the numbers. Moreover, you already run 18 lands, I think the risk of you flooding is quite low indeed.

zephyr_chang im actualy running 23 spells, you are missing Spectral Procession, Surge of Thoughtweft i have found very useful as it allows me to draw a card and get that extra beats in(it has won me quite a few games), as for the land, yes it is for thinning out the deck i dont know why they look weird to you

I gather this is meant to be a creature-aggro deck? Therefore it's a surprise that you only run 20 creatures. I think as a starting point, you can replace Surge of Thoughtweft with something else. I'm not sure if you can reach the critical mass to make that card really useful. The random fetches for thinning also look weird?

Any deck can win on any given day! To help though I would cut the Sun Titan, He probably cost too much with 21 lands.
You're missing the best Kithkin! Gotta have Springjack Shepherd! He gives you goats eaqual to your devotion to white, gotta be a 4 of. You combine it with Mirror Entity and you can pump your whole team to high heaven. The best part is that he counts as a Kithkin too. Galepowder Mage can flicker the Shepherd too for even more goats.
Other than the addition of Springjack Shepherd+Mirror Entity, I think you should work on the removal. O-Ring is very slow and while its great that it can hit anything, its probably not fast enough. If you don't have money for Path to Exile, which is the best option, you can play Journey to Nowhere. I know it looks worse than O-Ring but the fact that is cost 1 less is probably important in an agro deck like this. Otherwise you have to use conditional spells like Reciprocate or Valorous Stance.
My suggestion would be this:
Sun Titan -1
Good luck getting your Mutavault!

I agree with aholder7. You are positioned as an aggressive deck and Sphere of Safety just pulls your curve up. Journey to Nowhere and Oblivion Ring lose a lot of value without Sphere of Safety. If you're willing to break your budget a bit, Path to Exile goes a long way as removal compared to your enchantments. Off hand, I noticed you didn't have a lot draw effects, and a quick search revealed Surge of Thoughtweft, which fits your theme, draws cards early, and pumps as a combat trick later.
