Surge of Thoughtweft

Tribal Instant — Kithkin

Creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn. If you control a Kithkin, draw a card.

zachz Oh I do like these recommendations. With my, albeit limited, testing higher cmc cards like Ballynock Trapper only work if I can get out multiple copies of Ballyrush Banneret. But that being said, I might be able to get it out with Preeminent Captain since all creatures are soldiers with the exception of the lord. Coordinated Barrage will 100% be going in when I have time to remake the deck. Thank you for the intro to white burn. Surge of Thoughtweft doesn't really work with the enchantment synergy but I might add it for the card draw which is much needed. Militia's Pride Would probably work great with the lord in this deck, it would also make for a great WG lifegain remake of this deck with the likes of Sunbond and Ajani's Welcome which I might do now. Thanks for the idea! Militia's Pride is a really fun looking card. It feels like I would almost need a tutor to use it without any card draw though. I will probably do a few test to see if I can make it work. Thank you very much, these look like some great cards!

Love seeing more Kithkin fast aggro decks. If you find yourself losing momentum by later turns, I would recommend Coat of Arms as an enormous tide-turner for every tribal deck.

Coordinated Barrage could be an offensive defense that pairs well with Ballynock Trapper, but the trapper might not pair well with the low mana cost of this deck.

Thoughts on Surge of Thoughtweft or Militia's Pride?

I'll have to update my own Kithkin deck after learning from yours.

As far as strict legality goes, the hybrid cards should be excluded. Since this is a more thematic deck, I personally would allow them, but check with the people you expect to be facing regularly.

The draw options from Lorwyn/Morningtide are Diviner's Wand and Surge of Thoughtweft, and you have one of those already, so you're going to need to step out to get anything better.

Dear Elf0491 now I'll explain the combos, but I stop you right away, if you mean combo like infinite life points etc, you are doing wrong big time because there are the hub "infiniti combo", I can now explain to you.

Combo n1 Amoeboid Changeling + Urgent Exorcism destroy all the creatures of the adversary

Combo n2 Amoeboid Changeling + Griffin Rider thanks to the ability of the amoeba it is activated that of the griffin, and so also for creatures and if we also add the ability of the Sinew Sliver all my creatures take +1/+1

Combo n3 Amoeboid Changeling + Bonds of Faith the adversary's creatures can't attack and block but if you use them on your creatures they gets +2/+2

this speech could go on with Distant Melody Aquitect's Will Surge of Thoughtweft.

Now are you sure there are no combos? Or you meant "infinite combo"?

ZorrosRage Thanks for advice but running GQ would feel much in same as path of exile Would need of running of Leonin Arbiter . I like the way u can just pop Tectonic in turn 4 and just be over with it opponent of needing to fetch land or needing a land drop. Celestial Colonnade Seemed like a prime target for our Tectonic. We can run at 2-3 mana since we got ways to cheat creatures into play by Aether Vial or Preeminent Captain. As our counterparts win-conditions take more of mana. i dont mind that much about them burning themselves over for mana since it makes our win-condition easier.

Was running 2 Militia's Pride last week at local tournament pretty satisfied with the card usually swinging 4-8 dmg per game of dmg into opponent.

I know card draw is a problem cause we really only have 3 ways to draw additional cards just by cycling Surge of Thoughtweft and also we could already at turn 4-6 be playing with no hand cards. GQ and Flag seems to come as of question do we want to sacrifice a bit of slowing opponent down for safer top decks? Also what if opponent is playing Blood Moon ? With tectonic we don't sacrifice that much of our manabase into mountains even though we got Figure of Destiny where to dump red.

Sorry if i feel like kinda of a bonehead towards suggestions, but im pretty sure that i will get 2-3 teegs and 3 borderguard over for next weeks tournament.

I have a few recommendations for this deck. Firstly, Cenn's Heir, Kinsbaile Borderguard, and Ballyrush Banneret seem like auto includes for Kithkin tribal. Cenn's Enlistment is a little mana intensive, but it gives you bodies of a relevant type, and can be recurred in the late game and turn dead land draws into bodies. Surge of Thoughtweft could be played strictly for flavor if that's something you're interested in.

Additionally, I feel like you don't need as many filler Kithkin like Amrou Kithkin and Kinscaer Harpoonist and could use more tribal staples like Kindred Discovery and Herald’s Horn , as well as a better control package of cards like Beast Within and Pongify.

This looks like a good start and I'm really interested to see where you take it, as I can see it heading towards either an Agro or Control strategy.

I just did a bunch of play testing on xmage with the split of Borderguard and Whiteclay and i rely like it

if i put Smuggler's Copter in it would probably take the place of Surge of Thoughtweft

No, I didn't miss the Spectral Processions. If you think that 20 creatures (all 1/1s and 2/2s, without any additional setup) in your deck is enough to aggro the opponent out, then that's great. Yes, I know what Surge of Thoughtweft does - but like I said, you don't want to cast this without having at least 2 creatures out, and I suppose if the opponent is letting you build a board of weenies without killing them or building their own board of blockers, then that's a game you'd be winning anyway? Or maybe, for greater clarity, you can describe a typical scenario where Surge of Thoughtweft wins you games?

Thinning a mono-colour deck with fetches has been shown to matter less than the life points lost by people other than myself, so I defer to the numbers. Moreover, you already run 18 lands, I think the risk of you flooding is quite low indeed.
