Exhibit A: Spell Queller. Used in ancient times to deny opponents their early creatures and spells while providing a solid body for attacking.
Exhibit B: Siege Rhino. Pure-value engines of war employed by the great lords of old.
Exhibit C: Sylvan Caryatid. Mythical forest creatures used to generate various types of mana in 4-color decks that demanding fixing. Also a good body that upsets almost any kind of removal.
Exhibit D: Planeswalkers. Powerful warriors that once walked the land, lending their many talents for controlling the board to only the most skilled warlords.
Exhibit E: Inquisition of Kozilek. One of the many dark magic tactics used by commanders centuries ago. Used to obtain knowledge of the opponent's strategies and to get rid of them before they even reached the battlefield. An excellent cover in the first few turns of battle until the user's primary force was strong enough to deal with the enemy's larger threats.
These combinations of exhibits allowed the users to construct a powerful empire without bankrupting themselves while still managing to hold their own against most other potentially hostile kingdoms.
Yet for all its might the ancient Kingdom of Nope had many enemies, and even suffered defeat at the hands of a few of the more barbaric tribes, including the infamous Cult of Aura Hexproof. Even today, analysts and historians ponder strategies that the Kingdom of Nope could have used to defeat enemies like these...
