Angels of the Multiverse project No.2 Innistrad

The goal of this project is to create a story themed deck that can still function decently at your commander game night tables, and provide a little story for you to tell anyone who might be interested if you or they really like a certain commander. It's also a good way to get someone interested in the lore of MTG.

Innistrad's Host of Herons. Sigarda is associated with purity and birth and the protection of humans on Innistrad, also the most well liked among the angelic sisters as she involves herself in the daily lives of many cities on Innistrad. Sigarda never let the "perfect" become the enemy of the good. She acted when she knew who was on the side of good and who was on the side of evil. The iron framework keeping Sigarda together was an unabashed love of humankind and her very human emotions unlike her sisters. According to Sorin Markov, she was too emotional for an angel and was too humanlike, often offering mercy where ruthlessness might have better served the people of Innistrad in his views. Sigarda, who protected the living; views all human life as a gift and strives to protect each person like a mother, offering guidance to those have strayed from the path of good, though not all listen. Sigarda being the eldest sister she was very skeptical of Avacyn showing up out of nowhere, Sigarda and Liesa were very warry of Avacyn and Sigarda did not fall in to loyalty with her but did respect her until Avacyn killed Liesa, Sigarda had much sadness and displeasure for Avacyn and did warn her sisters of this strange angel . During Avacyn's disappearance Sigarda continued to do as she once did but with more vigor as she knew the people of Innistrad saw Avacyn as a beacon of hope, and during Avacyn's fall from grace Sigarda seemed almost immune to Emrakul's mind control and helped get as many people to safety as she could in order to shield them from Avacyn and her sisters, until she had to act when seeing the abomination of her sisters Bruna and Gisela turned into Brisela. Sigarda could only weep whilst ending the life's of her sisters.

During the Midnight Hunt and Crimson Vow Sigarda had become the new beacon of hope of Innistrad, reviving many of the angelic flights that were once lost. Sigarda took up Avacyn's role as best she could, answering the fervent prayers of the lost and endangered and even those cursed by the plane's misfortune such as Lycanthropy. The people gave her many epithets: Sigarda the True, Sigarda the Shadow-Slayer and Sigarda the Hope of the Lost. New churches were put up in her name and old churches that once worshiped the other angels converted to worship Sigarda while still keeping some of the old texts of the past angels, and even Coven's were formed by witches and other occults to worship her.

During the The Invasion's Aftermath Sigarda fought to defend Innistrad during New Phyrexia's Invasion of the Multiverse solidifying herself in the eyes of the people of Innistrad as their true beacon of hope, their angelic protector. After the introduction of Halo to Innistrad by New Capenna's angels, Sigarda started channeling it, becoming a font of blessings that would give the humans of Innistrad an edge in their defense against the invasion and fighting along side them.
