What good is life gain if you can't use it? It was a question I asked out loud when I hit 200+ life with my Oloro deck. It was a new miserable experience for all, including myself. Then it occured to me...K'rrik. Unalterd, he's a 15ish shot mana rock, but coupled with life gain, he's fantastic, but partner him up with a super life gain mechanic and he can pay for everything...in black of course, which is what we loaded this deck up with. All the baddie black win cons, but not just that--I did want to play the deck, not just tutor for the win, yet it's there if need be. If we can get K'rrik some shroud (Lightning Greaves) we can turn him into quite the fearless money machine. This deck isn't mono black, obviously, still he can help the cost on so many things while giving you some fun game play. Nearly every card not in black is designed to give you life, life on your upkeeps, life on end steps, and why not double your life gain. Oloro is going to give you life just because you're special and you deserve it, and K'rrik is going to help you spend that life on the things you need and the things you desire, like Exquisite Blood or Peer Into The Abyss, or simply go nuts with Ad Nauseam. Your friends will be just as excited as you are with how much life you dumped into Damnable Pact and still had enough to fill Aetherflux Reservoir, which one friend may very well flip the table in response with just how rich with life you are and all shiny things you have.
